>>

Sure but why did they both play their characters like every Batman villain is the Joker?
>>

Capeshit has a cultural longevity for some reason so this will be probably be his only legacy for future generations.
>>

Pitch perfect for this movie
RLM shills need to go
>every adaptation of a classic character needs to be just like it was in the cartoon I remember as a kid
"No!"
a complex harvey dent struggling with his identity would have been too bloated for this film, where carrey's riddler took center stage
his new purple look is a bold choice and matches the film's overly neon-aesthetic, which say what you will being a poor fit for Batman, it's what they were going for and his character design reflects it
the film needed an established villain to come in, fund riddler's schemes, and take a backseat and they had probably decided to use two-face before they even had a real script
and his hooker girlfriends gave me a wee lad boner
he's BASED

Goddamn, the 90s really were peak. I just hope that I can hold out long enough for a technology to emerge that will be able to put you into a DMT-like state of perception where I can live in an "eternal" loop of around 1968 to 2008. That 40 years really was the peak of human civilization.

I fucking love campy, stupid Batman so much.
the Nolan movies did so much damage to the character(s) and it's so fucking sad that everything Bamham needs to be grim and super ceral all the time.
the 60's show is the best TV show ever made and I will absolutely die on this hill.

I really thought he was good in the movie, he just needed a better script or be in a better film overall. His opening monologue was really good.

Two-face could have worked fine, if Riddler was played as an intellectual. You can give him all sorts of hangups, but generic Carrey, next to this two-face meant there was no pathos to latch on to there, and that sabotages stakes and audience investment.
Freeze and Ivy are comparatively fine because while they could be compared in terms of two dimensionality, they have completely different things they're bringing to the table as characters in their portrayals.
The brain drain plot is also complete gibberish and there's no payoff for Riddler at the end. Two-face gets the fun 'toss a handful of quarters' bit.
>>
>>220274539
Jim Carrey played The Riddler like Frank Gorshin and was nothing like Jack Nicholson
>>
>>220274355
absurd Two-Face and "oh no! boiling acid!" still isn't as bad as retard Bane, Max Headroom Alfred, and Alicia Silverstone's Batgirl

It's weird to the Barrymore wasn't considered a huge star at this point in her career, so she just did this one bit part.
>>
>>220282447
She was a bigger star as a kid. She just happens to be in one of the most famous Hollywood families so her fame never ceded too much

Yeah, honestly I think Scream was where her career as an adult started to take off. It was big, memorable moment in the film despite being a small role, then she got The Wedding Singer which was a big hit and Ever After the same year (great retelling of Cinderella, definitely check it out if you haven't seen it), then she had Never Been Kissed and Charlie's Angels and after that it was as if she'd always been a huge star.

Forever is comfortably the best Batman movie and it's not close at all. Why can't we retvrn it's been like 20 years since Nolanshit and it's still going on.
>>
>>220283195
>the best Batman movie and it's not close at all.
Been saying this for years. It's the closest we've ever gotten to actually seeing an accurate Batman on screen since the '66 movie. The Batman sort of comes close but it's still drenched in "realism."
Both Schumacher films are better than the Tim Burton movies, sure B&R might be silly, but it's still more character accurate, and to the point it's still the best live-action Batman movie to put on for little kids.
>>
>>220283274
nah, burtons are significantly better than B&R and returns is very nearly even with forever. returns tries very hard not to be taken as seriously as it is for some reason.
>>
>>220274482
This Two-Face's look was the result of a chemical explosion.

To be fair Tommy Lee was right to not sanction Jim Carrey as he's a fucking scumbag
>>
>>220282105
Jim Carrey played the Riddler like Jim Carrey.
>>
>>220282799
He didn't care if he died but why wasn't he evacuated first from the hospital instead of last?
>>
>>220274482
well if it was realistic acid burns it'd be too gross for a kid's medium
>>
>>220283482
I will admit I'm slightly biased because I don't like Tim Burton's brand of goth camp, but the thing that definitely puts Schumacher's films over Burton's is respect for the character. Even when Batman is sliding around on ice-skates the film still respects Batman more than Burton did. Burton's films fundamentally changed Batman as a character and Bruce Wayne bears no resemblance to his comic counterpart.
>>
>>220284011
well thats mostly keaton's performance, very miscast.
>>
>>220284094
The performance is irrelevant, anyone could have played that part and the writing would still be the same.

Batman Forever is a super comfy watch you unrepentant homo.

Two-Face's opening monologue about luck is probably the single greatest encapsulation of the character in one paragraph of dialogue ever written and should be mandatory watching for every single Two-Face writer before they commit pen to paper.

The director was hyper gay, and once you understand that the bat nipples, and general gay vibes of the costumes make sense.

Many people in the industry have said something similar.

there's this bleak darkness hanging over his head. like all his past sins are consuming him, but he feels no guilt. this was pre bogging. prior to the rock hall event last year. emotionally he came across a control freak who'd snap at a minor inconvenience so I, the nobody that I am, didn't want to infuriate him. i don't frequently notice celebrities in the wild or if I have seen them they don't come across this badly (in a league of industry with awful personalities). stayed with me ever since. I don't believe in clones or body double shit, I wish I'd snuck a picture. he limps on one of his legs but could probably still kicked my ass, wasn't gonna risk it.
