I loved Fringe, until the last season. I thought that one was shit.
Been very, very slowly going through X-Files (on season 3), and it's good but there's a lot of shit episodes / filler. With 24 episodes a season (nearly an hour each) it can be a slog.

Fringe has nothing that approaches a Darin Morgan episode. Heck not even a Vince Gilligan tier episode. It's a good show, but Fringe never quite reaches the highs (or the lows, to be fair) of The X-Files.
