What's your favourite media RoboCop besides the original?
Janperson. He fights for justice.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MbnSRrwW10
>>220283184Rogue City.
Probably RoboCop The Series. It's more kid friendly, but it still manages to capture a lot of the satire and also does a surprisingly good job of looking like the original movie on a 90s TV series budget.
>>220283435I've also been watching Alpha Commando for the first time. It's really good.

>>220283184Rogue City and the Frank Miller comics
I'm a stinky gamer, but I really enjoyed the RoboCop Rogue City (2023) and RoboCop Unfinished Business (2025) games. In terms of performance they run like absolute shit but they're a lot of fun, the creators seems to have been big robofans. Peter Weller played Murphy so it seems legit to me.
>>220283346Is the SNES and/or Genesis game of this meant to be good?
>>220283568Weller did a great job of reviving Robocop after all these years. But the supporting cast left a lot to be desired. In fact they ruined it for me.
>>220283426Kek
Robogarda.
>>220283568Teyon are so awesome. The games are definitely unpolished, but the respect for the franchises they work on is undeniable. If you haven't already you should definitely check out their Terminator games. The Infiltrator mode they did was clearly them prototyping mechanics for Rogue City. Now if we can just get them to somehow do a RoboCop vs The Terminator game, we'd be set.
>>220283594>But the supporting cast left a lot to be desired. The original characters were okay, Dr. Blanche, Becker and Wendell were all really good. The chick that voiced Lewis was okay as well, but the actors for Reed and The Old Man were really bad.
>>220283594>>220283672Definitely a very mixed bag, I sort of headcanon that the reason the actors sound like they're mid is that this film's budget could only cast actors who were mid. It's a bit of an ouroboros but it works for me.>>220283649I forgot all about the Terminator games, mayhapst I shall partake in a little termination this weekend...
>>220283672Yeah The Old Man was the one that really stood out to me as a failure. But some of the original characters were bad too. The guy who played Soot seemed to think he was in a Saturday morning cartoon. Weak stuff compared to Boddicker.
>>220283717>that this film's budget could only cast actors who were mid. That's definitely it. Teyon are a smaller studio, with a very limited budget, and if you've only got so much money for voice actors, you pay to get Peter Weller and then figure it out from there.
>>220283782I didn't mind Soot given that he's a lesser character and his voice stands out from the rest of the bad guys. Some of the Torch Head goons were a bit grating given how many of them had the same voice and that guy was REALLY screechy.
>>220283794Pretty much. Just the performance issues these games have scream to me that they can't afford to go back and fix it. The stuff that's good is really good, and I've never met a gamedev who didn't care. I imagine the license costs a bit as well.
>>220283893Runs smooth on my 4090 RTX rig.

>>220283893>that they can't afford to go back and fix it.They are pretty good about going back and patching stuff after release, especially given that both RoboCop and Terminator got second run releases when they released new campaigns. On that note, both Annihilation Line and Unfinished Business are listed as DLC campaigns, which from any other developer would mean maybe an hour, hour and a half's worth of game time, but Teyon basically put out full games for both. The only difference between them and the main game is they didn't put in moral choice type dialogue. Bugs and lack of polish aside I feel like I have gotten more for my money from those two games than most games I've bought in the last ten years.I already had Terminator: Resistance on PS4, I actually went out and bought a PS5 specifically for the DLC and RoboCop.
>long running, popular franchise >the only actually good entry is the first one while everything else is mid to badMany such cases.
>>220283893No Unreal Engine 5 game is particularly well optimized, the engine is just heavy. Not a fault of the devs really.
>>220283568>>220283649I now remembered these were the same guys that released that god awful Rambo game a couple of years back. Good redemption arc.
>>220284372>that god awful Rambo gameYeah, apparently their previous publisher fucked them over real hard on that one. Halved their budget and moved the release date up, so they were forced to drop a lot of what they had planned and scrambled just to release something playable. At least that's what I've heard, either way I'm glad it didn't destroy them and we got the best Terminator and RoboCop games in years and ever respectively.
I liked the 90s show and the Marvel comics and thought the 80s cartoon was alright.
>>220284606>the Marvel comicsI really wish they'd put out a collected ombibus. I've seen the individual issues going around, but at this point I worry about the condition of them (and the price people are asking).
