No. What is this autistic writing advice that keeps being pushed on the board of characters requiring 20/20 awareness? From where should Mike have "read the room"? When did Walt outright irrationally kill people out of personal disdain before? The irony of Mike's death is that he unknowingly predicts this scene. When they are trying to hire him back in the beginning of season 5, he says that Walt is "a ticking time bomb" and he "doesn't want to be around for the explosion," except he both goes back to work for said bomb and inadvertently lights up the fuse that kills him because just once his personal feelings overwhelm him and he has to have the last word.I will never understand how people think this is a writing flaw. Was Mike established to be a cyborg? Was his boiling hatred for Walter never been pronounced before this scene? What's the issue? Ah the character didn't read his own script. Shame shame.
