>spend years hearing about how this movie was so innovative and progressive and Star Wars fans couldn’t accept it because it was too forward-thinking and difficult
>watch it
>just a remake of Empire Strikes Back with a little bit of Return of the Jedi thrown in
What are people even talking about?
>>
About how dogshit it was and how it killed Star Wars and how that probably is a good thing

i liked the design of that last planet they were on. everything else was shit
>>
>>220285517
I like those creatures
planet design wasn't that great
white on the surface but crimson underneath so that the skimmers leave a stark red trail against the white - talk about a visual that insists upon itself. I can just see Rian or whoever pitching that visual like it was supposed to be the coolest thing ever, it makes me cringe
>>
>>220285426
>What are people even talking about?
About how it raped Luke and quite literally killed the entire franchise.
>>
>no daisy ridley in a sexy sith outfit
>>
I've literally never heard anyone say anything positive about this movie besides the shills of blankcheck podcast.

TLA is the most hated star wars movie
>>
>>220285426
Last Jedi is probably the only post-Lucas content that challenged its viewers. I remember being uncomfortable during certain scenes.

How it feel having a taste of the same medicine you've been forcing down people's throats?
>>
>>220286038
And that's supposed to be a merit?
>>
>>220285858
I dislike all sw movies but what choice do people have? Nobody remembers TFA and nobody saw the one with palpatine.
>>
>tfw we haven’t had a good Star Wars movie since 1980
>>
>>220286305
holy shit you're right
>>
>>220286234
There's also Rogue One. The one the fanboys love so much because it has a scene with Darth Vader. That its characters have all the depth of cardboard cutouts, its screenplay provides dialogue more stupid than episode 2's, its whole premise is retconning an exhaust-port-shaped plothole of the original film that never actually was a plothole and its cinematography is the mediocre Hollywood standard? They don't care. It has Darth Vader swinging his lasersword around.
>>
>>220285631
when you put it that way, yeah. i hate it now

Just two more weeks.

>new star wars film tracking to be lowest opening star wars ever made

how brain-damaged and contrarian do you have to be to decry rogue one? Rogue One, and andor series are some of the best Star Wars disney dished out. It cuts perfectly into ANH, literally hang yourself with a usb mouse you sweaty fat bastard.

people only like rogue one because of the last 20min

kek trying so hard to ragebait that you've dug into your anime react folder. It's ok to have trash taste anon, but I just want to make sure you are aware.

It's aesthetic and tells a story about regular people. Thank god darth vader's dick burnt off or you'd probably suck it until you died.

Bro don't even bother he's probably some redditor schizo hybrid. He has nothing of importance to say, you'll just get delusions from a scattered mind.
>>
>>220289275
Rogue One is full of one-dimensional characters and is very clearly a Frankenstein's monster of an edit stitched together from two very different movies.

Thankfully Andor does a lot to flesh out some of the characters and gives the movie the context it needs for anyone above double-digit IQ to give a shit, so I like it a lot more in hindishgt.

>>220285517
>i liked the design of that last planet they were on
Hoth 2.0?
>>
>>220289763
bro the star wars fanbase has been crying over Luke throwing the lightsaber and considering the murder of his nephew for the past decade
>>
Kylo is a legitimately good character though.
>>
>I saw this in theaters
How did this movie do more damage than The Force Awakens?
>>

I liked the silverback gorilla AT-ATs
>>

Its message about how hero worship is dumb because heroes are flawed or whatever doesn't work, since Luke literally WAS a hero. It's not like the Rebels made up stories about him to build his image, he actually did all those things. Rian Johnson seemed to be trying to do some Unforgiven-type messaging about myth, where people's pasts are vague and prone to lionization, but it doesn't work in this context because we SAW Luke do the things that made him a hero.
And the message especially doesn't work because the movie, while distorting Luke's character, continues TFA's glorification of Rey. The "subversion" that everyone talks about in this movie only goes in one direction: against Luke and what people actually like about Star Wars. There is no subversion of Rey whatsoever. On the contrary, the movie doubles and triples down on how perfect she is, to the extent that the other characters are trapped in an inconsequential B-plot.
The movie is just awful in every way and made by someone who clearly is not capable of writing or directing sci-fi fantasy.

Stop exclusively watching Star Wars and capeshit and try to actually see some good film for a change. Have you tried, dunno, anything from before 1970, for example?

Kek, true. When I realized what these guys were nostalgic for wasn't Obi Wan riding a CGI iguana, it was the goofy cartoons they made to go along with it, I got less mad.
I went with some Zoomers to see the re-release of Episode 3, and it was pretty cringe. The best part was them cheering when Anakin unsheathed his lightsaber to kill the younglings.

TLJ was the emperor's new clothes of film.
It's fucking retarded, and everyone knows it's retarded, but you still had doormats unwilling to admit it and coming up with excuses until it became too much to handle.
It doesn't challenge shit except the patience of the viewer, because even ignoring all the utter stupidity, the movie is absolutely boring.
Barely anything happens except for a few bursts that inevitably do something even more stupid than the previous low bar the movie set for itself.
>>
>>220291070
people have been glazing tlj for almost 10 years
