Youtube was a mistake. The problem with television was the gradual lack of curation and the creation of low effort trash like early 2000s reality tv. The solution shouldnt have been putting content creation into the hands of everyone. Turns out most people are naturally dumb and dont have the capacity to write for a television audience so it created an economy of slop consumption.
