Why did this review mind break so many zoomers? There isn't a single discussion on the prequels that doesn't eventually break down to zoomies blaming these reviews for why people think the prequels suck.

Congrats on getting phone privileges back, lil' guy.

Because zoomers only get their information from youtube, and this was the most influential prequel youtube video. They don't remember/weren't born when the prequels came out. They don't know the hype around them, and the nature of the disappointment people had. I was a pre/early teen when the prequels came out, and the universal opinion amongst anyone I talked to about them at the time was that TPM was mostly lame and for little babies, AOTC had cool fighting but looked way too fake, and ROTS was awesome.

Over the years and after some rewatches, I have new respect for both TPM and AOTC, but I can definitely see where those original criticisms come from. ROTS has only gotten better, and I think is a contender for best SW movie overall.

can it really be called a review? half of the runtime is devoted to baseless speculation about what was going on behind the scenes and in George Lucas' personal life

also didnt this guy shill JJ Abrams?

This.
>ROTS has only gotten better, and I think is a contender for best SW movie overall.
Sadly, you're mistaken.
I'm a Zoomer myself and I remember having fond nostalgia for the third one specifically.
I rewatched it in the theatre for the re-release and I walked out going
>"this was the garbage I liked so much when I was 9?"
>>
>>220292979
it didn't, unless you think laughing at a retard's opinions is being mindbroken

>>220293692
No prequeltard is laughing at the plinkett reviews. It's nothing but butthurt sperging.

It's been nearly 30 years its time to stop crying about the Prequels jfc

Let's be honest, a lot of their criticism of the prequels was idiotic.

Let's be REALLY honest, and say that while the criticism was braindead, it was entertaining, and the series of videos offered a walkabout through the prequel trilogy that maybe opened up the conversation for all sorts of viewers with a critical lens to it all to form their own thoughts and opinions after being introduced, reminded, or persuaded on the subject of the 3 films. I watched these reviews years ago, and alongside the reviews of the Star Trek films, I was thoroughly entertained and still appreciate them, even though I was never persuaded nor beholden to the opinions express within them. Their just a fun trashtalk throughout media that I thoroughly enjoy for my own reasons, and there's nothing within them that suggest they are gospel, or that I should feel lesser for forming my own opinions on them

Counterpoint: why did the prequels mindbreak Gen-Xers? They're just kids movies.
Are they all manchildren or something?

How so?

Zoomers don't watch RLM
>>
>>220294143
Really? I think the points about the stilted dialogue, the bad composition, the shot/reverse-shot dialogue scenes, "two people sitting in a room", the overuse of cgi, and the general stupidity of the plot are pretty spot-on.
>>
>>220292979
yourube has had the same effect on other subjects too, loading kids up with so many millennial and gen x narratives that they end up getting confused.

truth of course is that the prequels had anime-tier dialogue.
>>
>>220292979
These fags are the reason Disney hired mystery box JJ Abrams for the sequels
>>
>>220292979
Nobody outside of /tv/ and a few other obscure film forums know who these guys are.

>truth of course is that the prequels had anime-tier dialogue.
But retards that have never picked up a book or seen a play in their life will tell you it's epic and shakespearean.
>>
>>220296572
A lot of anime is inspired by Shakespeare, ironically...
