I've been rediscovering a lot of love for my older comics, games and books but honestly I'm not sure how you'd go ahead with this. Carrie is dead, Harrison Ford was too old 10 years ago and even if they're doing a big reset it's just kind of late. I love the OT, I was the right age to have a kind of nostalgic fondness for the PT, I have comics and games and books and really I don't think I need anymore. I thought some of Visions was decent. If they can make something good I won't complain, but I just don't think I can get excited.

The whole idea of a canon outside the movies is strange honestly. Even back in the old EU there was always something that contradicted something else or it was too hard to place in order. Somethings where easy and slotted in fine like shadows of the empire but it was always secondary to the films. Hell you should check out Splinter of the Mind's Eye and the 70s comics if you want to see some crazy shit when none of this was figure out. So it doesn't really bother me when they said the old EU wasn't canon because ultimately all that really matters is if the stories are good and the idea of a fictional story being fictional tot the fiction is just dumb. The Rebs are back owing to the incompetence of an old republic. What separates them from the sequels is that they actually looked unique.

I’d say all you’d have to do for future is- if you’re going to have it set in the future- open the galaxy to the unknown regions and finally have them explored, or have a new enemy- maybe something along the lines of the Yuzhan Vong or the space Vikings of the high republic, or have a giant corporation trying to rule the galaxy- have billionaires be shown as the villains they are.

Or hell, you don’t have to make it grand. Maybe make it with more pulp adventures with small tales around the galaxy like a sort of anthology series set in that era- get real cowboy bebop with it.

I liked Kylo a lot after Episode VII and had high hopes and argued against people who didn't like him because I thought I'd picked up on something cool.
