I'm starting to think he has a thing for trashy cougars because both his shows I've seen have them
>Yellowstone - Beth
>Landman - Angie, doubly counts that she's a MILF
It's pretty based, any other examples of a writer's obvious kinks showing up in their works?

>>220302678
I'm not sure I quite understand Yellowstone. Is it supposed to be a prestige drama or a soap opera? Because I watched season 1 and it felt like a remake of Dallas but set in Montana
>>

Nah, Tulsa King was pretty solid

He has a big dick and they show it on the show

>>220303531
This, peak tv are soaps but written to be geared towards men be it The Wire, The Shield, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad or Dexter.
>>
>>220303679
His character is supposed to be about a decade younger, given I think in season 1 they mention Tommy was born in '63
>>
>>220303659
Conflict and power struggles do not a soap opera make p

Which is fucking based. Shame he also convinced her to get all the shitty tattoos
>>
>>220302678
Yellowstone is a Kevin Costner production, my dude. Some might not know that, but its true.
>>
>>220302678
He's more hgh than man now
>>
>>220303925
We get it, not cool that we slaughtered the injuns but we came in, took their land, and killed them. It's what conquering nations do.
Oh how that line would never be allowed on TV today.
>>
>>220304307
the Indians were absolutely terrible at negotiating or placing value on anything. They were way out of their league when the merchants showed up.

you have no fucking idea how big the oil industry is and how much we all rely on it!!!!!

I'm still mad they killed off John Hamm after only a season

I thought the Injuns thought they were screwing the Europeans over because they didn't understand the concept of owning land

Why does he not get bullied for being on insane amounts of hgh and test?
>>
>>220304665
he's on that other show, My Friends & Neighbors, where he plays a cat burglar
>>
>>220304665
Maybe he faked his death
>>

Roid rage is real and you don't wanna be on the bad end of it. Probably why he's the only writer on his shows too.
>>
>>220304810
>why he's the only writer on his shows
Isn't that basically not allowed due to union rules?
>>
>>220304810
anon if things like that were to happen to your while working on a show you'd get a nice fat payout and he would be demonised
>>
>>220305002
There's a reason he doesn't work in California
>>
>>220305002
It's why writers went on strike, because creators getting to be one man writers rooms were becoming an issue, Sheridan gets away with it because he has that written into his contract with Paramount back in 2018.
>>
>>220302678
Beth isn't trashy, she's a fucking headcase, that John didn't commit her to a psych ward for the rest of her life is his dumbest decision ever
>>
>>220305073
But he has an office at Paramount, which is in California
>>
>>220302712
Ali is holding up hot.
>>
>>220306013
She gets naked in Landman, and frequently dresses like a skank
>>
>>220303726

NTA but IMO TV shows are either standalones or serials, comedy or drama, thus there's theoretically four types of TV show:
>standalone drama
>standalone comedy
>serial drama
>serial comedy
The first three are procedurals, sitcoms, and soap operas respectively; the fourth is purely theoretical and does not exist in real life, because in practice a serialised comedy show is either just a sitcom with a couple of long-form plots glued on (e.g. Cheers, Friends), or it's a soap opera that has more jokes than usual (e.g. Ally McBeal)
Therefore all longform drama on TV is soap opera and any apparent distinction between The Wire and Days of Our Lives is purely a matter of taste and budget

It will be argued that there's a fifth thing, the "prestige drama"; it will be argued that the prestige drama is distinct from a soap opera, because soap operas are shitty and have improvised plotlines whereas prestige dramas are great and have carefully constructed season-long "arcs".
But this is false, semantics at best. TV's prestige dramas are just high-budget soap operas, they don't plan arcs any longer than a standard soap opera does, and for the same reasons, viz., that you just can't actually plan that far ahead in TV production. Actors drop out or die, current events foreclose on storylines, executives meddle, ideas that sounded good don't work in practice, etc, etc, etc.
People have tried planning TV shows out well in advance, and the results are generally dismal (e.g. Game of Thrones); all your favourite prestige dramas were substantially improvised by the writers, just like a soap opera.

Thank you for your time

I have a theory...
He has very much more productive than other TV writers, but his work is terrible woke slop
I assume his is a brand name that Hollywood puts on the work of millennial genderqueers to trick geriatrics
