I don't get how you can write a book about a guy lusting overa boy he never interacts with him. At least the movie has pretty cinematography and eye candy (if you're gay lol) but the plot is rather thin. I imagine the novel expands on the debates the main character had with his friends on beauty and art, but there's barely no dialogue outside of that. So while it works as a movie because visuals and mood come first, is the book worth reading? Or is it boring? I loved the movie but I'm not sure if the novel would be interesting to me.
