Imagine having your whole life ahead of you and then one day some recruiter shows up and says 'Hey man, you're going overseas'. You don't have internet or really anywhere to question it, you probably have a dad or uncle who went to war who says not to do it, but what do they know? It's there, or jail - so the choice is obvious. Then you go overseas and it's a grimy, mosquito-filled jungle hotter than hell. You last a week before you step on a landmine, or a tripwire, or someone dumps a magazine into your front or back, or your allies drop napalm on you. And it's all for nothing. Scary.
