Now that the dust has settled, what did /tv/ really think of this?
>>220313866can i get a qrd on the premise of this show?i tried watching it but gave up after 4 episodes.
>>220313866Janet and Jason save the showTahani manages to be even more of a cunt IRL than she is on the show
Overall, it was good. Lighthearted, kind of funny, and not preachy.
I'm partway through season 3 and losing interest.
>>220313889four people go to heaven but have trouble adjusting to the lifestylethere's a major twist in the s1 finale that changes the whole dynamic of the show but I won't spoil it
>>220313889I don’t understand why you need a qrd on the premise if you got 4 episodes in.>>220313866It’s excessively inoffensive but I liked it. Black woman was pretty annoying, as usual. The ending was really gay and felt like advocating for your consciousness to be atomized but that was to be expected since it was basically comedy LOST. Normalfags can only ever write concepts like the afterlife or immortality as being mixed bags because if they faced the concept of eternity they’d never recover from their existential crisis’
>>220313889Elanor (played by Kristen Bell) appears in a random room, she is informed that she is dead and is insinuated that she has reached heaven aka The Good Place™. However it is slowly revealed that Elanor is actually a terrible person and may have mistakenly brought into heaven due to mistaken identity. Elanor tries to keep her real identity a secret and tries to find ways to not get kicked out of The Good Place™ with help of few folks there
>>220313889kirsten bell gets to heaven and it's filled with minorities which leads her to conclude she's actually in hell
>>220314075kek
>>220313936For me it’s Chidi. Minus the Kristen Bell gf, having sex and melanin he is literally me in every respect.
>>220313866Any webm requests?
>>220314075accurate
>>220314114I finally got around to seeing midsommer last year and holy shit I could not take his character seriously, he'll always be Chidi
>>220314008yeah, it pretty much peaked in season 1 and they couldn't find a way to make it more interesting
>>220314126Michael demonstrating the trolley problem seems like it’d get a lot of mileage
>>220313866It was funny how they immediately paired the blonde woman with the black.
>>220314171Oh shit, didn't realize he is from midsommer. He wasn't much memorable in it anyway
god testing me if I would drink milk from the source is definitely heaven
>>220314287The entire joke being that it would be torturous if her soulmate is short was very mean spirited imo
The first 2 seasons are good, the rest of the show is like latter seasons of Parks and Rec: unwatchable saccharine garbage to make the primarily white female audience placated
>>220314224
>>220314287My jeet dick turned treasonous for her
>>220313968I mean it was slightly preachy practically the point of the show
>>220314646I’d watch a whole show just torturing Chidi
>>220316205It is most of the show desu
>>220314646In that example, he says all 6 people are workers. In this case, it would be better to hit 1 people instead of 5. The main examples of the trolly problem I have seen include something like >5 criminals on one track>1 old man on another
>>220316374>>5 criminals on one trackWhat type of crime have they committed ?
>>220316374Michael changes it up afterwards and does the “kill one patient to use the organs to save 6” version
5 guys with questionable age gap gfs versus 1 guy with a cat at home that nobody knows about.
it had 4 seasons, like the 4 year journey you spend in the afterlife in mexican mythology.
I thought it was okay, would have been amazing if it wasn't done by sitcom writers.
>>220316598So you wanted to see it like a drama?
>>220313866the first season was decent especially with the twist in the end, the second was okay and how they tried to fuck up with the system and deamons, after that they runs out of ideas >>22031404299% of the people won't understand the concept of eternity, but i get it why they use the gate to "destroy" yourself in the end because it make some sense if you think about it, imagine you're are getting tortured for 1 billion years or have an endless orgasm for 1 billion years, you will get tired of both after so much time
>>220314029>there's a major twist in the s1 finale that changes the whole dynamic of the show but I won't spoil itThe twist is so obvious. I went in blind and only watched the first episode before deciding the show wasn't for me, but I clocked it one episode in
>>220318396> imagine you're are getting tortured for 1 billion years or have an endless orgasm for 1 billion years, you will get tired of both after so much timeHow about imagining you don’t ever get tired of either (try not to go insane)
>>220313866shouldve been 5 seasonscork blorked
>>220316598it was bland and inoffensive sitcom writing 101, true it could been done a lot edgier
I watched a little of this a while back. Funny as hell, but I was afraid to continue. I've been hurt too many times.
>>220318887I did a re-watch about a year ago. Still holds up! I liked it more the second time around in some ways because I could focus on the characters already knowing where the episodes are headed. D'Arcy Carden deserved an Emmy for Janet.
>>220313866>HEAVEN BADWhat did they mean by this?
>>220314075LOL
I thought it was okay.I’d call it “girlfriend slop”
>>220318635>shouldve been 5 seasonsWhat could possible be the plot of season 5?
I only watch it to coom to Kristen. Is that wrong?
>>220319465Her plasticky face was off putting in the latter seasons
>>2203165834 is such a strange number. It’s like they were going to go for 5 or 10 but crashed out early typical lazy Mexicans
>>220319499she was always mid af.
>>220319690She had a great mug in her prime too bad she never had any tits and ass
The premise was great up until the big twist took away the great premise.
>>220320045Season 4 they tried to have that back
>>220313889Heaven is libtard paradise where you like, need to be vaguely nice to each other and everyone is right except white Christian men. Kristen Bell has trouble adjusting because she is a neurotic Jewess but falls in love with educated moral blackman. D'arcy Carden plays a lolrandom android for comic relief.
The most insufferable quirk chungus liberal white woman cocaine character. >when she goes to earth and comes back seething about drumpf despite, you know, all the ethnic cleansing and starvation occurring throughout the world at any given moment
>>220320170>supply-side heaven where i whalemogg Jesus with my crypto gainz
>>220313866the "good place"
>>220320208>Seethes about perceived seething about drumpfYou guys are just as bad or even worse by now. This is one of the least political shows made in the last decade. It has one throwaway line about racism that lasts a few seconds, isn't directed at a person, and is never brought up again. Yet it dominated your memory of the show because of a possible slight against your god emperor
>>220320406get a load of the tds on this fella right here lol. I don’t even like him, I was using it as a simple, easy to understand example illustrating the kind of personality her character had.Besides that, it was a genuinely pretty big plot point to devote to extremely current thing dialogue that aged like milk.
>>220320406anon literally just said “I dislike a character” and you type all that
>>220318991The button scene was great
gay and fraudulent
>>220316374ive never seen a trolley problem mention criminals, just 1 vs 5"The trolley problem is a foundational ethical thought experiment in moral philosophy, popularized by Philippa Foot (1967) and Judith Jarvis Thomson, exploring whether it is right to sacrifice one person to save five."
>>220313866I don't watch TV shows with prominent negro roles
>>220313866it had some slow/repetitive parts, but overall it was a fun adventure. the character dynamics and growth were actually great.
Liked it a lot but lost interest during the 2nd season. Don't know why.
>>220314126jeremy bearimy time knife"you get how thats worse... right?""no no, my thing is different"when chidi is making the everything soup with marshmallow peeps and shit.
>>220314042>comedy LOSTGood description honestly
>>220316374the original make no distinctions about the people, only that it is on its way to hit five, or you can make a CHOICE to divert it to hit one. inaction is also a choice, but the proactive nature about directly involving yourself is a nuance of ethical implications.
>>220313866>interracial coupleI didn't watch it.
>>220313866This looks like the gayest corpo-slop lookin tv show ever
>>220319399the latter half of season 4 shouldve been an actual full season
>>220314646Inaction is still an action. The choice is obvious.
>>220313866Really enjoyed the first 2 seasons. After that it was a mixed bag. Haven't been able to bring myself to finish the last season.
>>220313866>yellow>green>blue>pinkI miss the color palette of 2010s fashion. Parks and Recs had similar clothing. We need to go back.
>>220327605It got annoying, that's why it changed
