The only real concern is having him job so whatever showwriter can make his special little OC cool, but Disney has required them to at least provide a proper explanation in line with his character so we can cope. I disagree. Both inquisitors in Maul were cool and the fact that we know they don't die there should have empowered them to kill someone other than Savage Oppress Jr and the spybot (RIP). Having them kill lizard man would have made everything Maul said about inquisitors seem right, so it would make even more sense for Devon to join him.

This also allows us to bring Vader in later in the series as a real threat escalation and in a way that gives Maul the ptsd he has later on. It was a perfect opportunity. They may have wasted this one but they can still make inquisitors cool if they stop relying on Vader.

I like Shadowlord. The only things about it that genuinely suck are:
How ugly Devon is. She's old enough to be hot, unless she was raised vegan, has some form of dwarfism or was on puberty blockers, she shouldn't look like a boy with the head of a woman.
Every time somebody who normally only uses one lightsaber gets a second one, they start dual-wielding, often improving their performance in a fight. I hate this trope.
Most importantly, the depth of field filter is horrible. Instead of just blurring things that aren't meant to be in focus there are big invisible brush strokes distorting the background, sometimes to the point of incoherence.
