De la Iglesia was an outspoken gay and socialist filmmaker who is relatively unknown outside Spain despite a prolific and successful career in his native country. He is best remembered for having portrayed urban marginality and the world of drugs and juvenile delinquency, with many of his films dealing with the theme of homosexuality

lol Zeebo the clown really caused me some strange, lasting childhood trauma. It’s weird because I never even watched the full episode, just a few seconds, basically pic related appeared in a late-night commercial back in the early 1990s. Decades later, I still have random nightmares about being trapped in that place and getting jumpscared by the clown. Even after finally watching the full episode in the 2000s (downloaded it from eMule because "Are You Afraid of the Dark" only aired once in my country and other than that promo ad I never saw the show) and realizing it wasn’t scary at all, the nightmares somehow still persist in goddamn 2026.

And it's extra weird because I wasn't a easily scared kid then, I watched Evil Dead 2, the Chucky movies, even other scary clown flicks like IT 1990 and Killer Klowns around the same years but never had nightmares about those.

>>
>>220330205
Yeah don't get me wrong I liked it too. I thought the beginning built up the tension very effectively which is part of why the stilted middle of the film annoyed me more. But yeah, indie film, clearly working with a smaller budget, so to an extent it's excusable. As for why the entity is there, they explain in the movie that the ruins and artifacts probably belonged to some pre-Ice Age culture, most of whom migrated to South America, but some stayed and were presumably frozen along with the ancient bacteria that drives the researches insane. Some of the pottery also has drawings depicting deformed humanoids with missing limbs etc. which is then mirrored in what happens to some members of the team. Not all of it is explained but yeah the basic gist I think is that the bacteria allows those it infects to perceive and communicate with the evil god. In the logic of the film it's possible that similar sites remain buried/preserved around the world, and the setting of the film was just one such place.

No, although it does have some ammo. If you're playing Chris, you turn and leave, go back to the main hall, and then there you pick up a handgun. If you play as Jill, you turn around and leave, and then a cutscene happens where Barry blows its head off with his magnum

You can, either by knifing the zombie to death or by simply running around what is slowest enemy in the game

Jill is recommended for the first playthrough because she's much easier. She starts with the handgun and 2 extra inventory slots, and she gets a helpful NPC that pops up throughout the game. Try with her if you give it another shot

Say the Irish director's third horror feature tonite. I can report that he's now spelling his last name correctly with no space. The movie itself was excellent. From his previous movies to this one he's made his formula cohesive and there's not so many loose ends/confusing details. He's got a strong hand at kinography and seems to be having fun.
>>
>>220330844
Forgot to add one thing, this movie was easily better than the last two horror movies I saw which were the dog fakeout one where it's about sad cancer and dogs, and the more recent one about the streamer who neglected her mom to death or some shit.

The costumes were shit and the ending was predictable. It doesn't do anything remotely new either, which hurts. The worst part of the entire movie is the sound guy is unbelievably annoying to the point he ruins every scene he's a part of. His cigarette shtick also gets older after about 2 minutes.
>>
>>220341777
Thrash was great you dink

It's WAY too overwritten. Every single fucking character is written in a way to garner sympathy. Because of this you automatically know none of them are going to die. It destroys any threat, which makes it boring to watch.

No news, but I'm not a fan of the new Jason mask with rectangular eyes that they trademarked to use in future TV shows and movies, it looks too clean, the new Jason design they use for merch and shit like Fortnite looks "too clean" in general
I also noticed that this design was the one they mainly used in 2025's Univeral Horror nights "Friday the 13th" attraction, but undead Jason from parts 6,7 and 8 shows up there near the end, with the only Jasons excluded being the ones from Jason Goes to Hell, Jason X and Freddy VS Jason, meaning that whoever owns Jason now can still use the undead versions of the character as long as they're from part 6 to 8 (the exposed teeth, bones, ribs & back plus chain around neck from part 7 and the greenish gooey one from part 8 for example)

Wow, what a stinker. Edward Furlong can't act, so why was he cast for the main role? Amy Hargreaves was cute, though.

Anyway, it's 1994, and the audience knows OF computers, but not what they actually can and cannot do. "Brainscan" is an interactive computer game that "stimulates the brain via the blanking signals of the TV it's played on". Edward Furlong murders a victim in the game, but oh no, it turns out he did it for real. He then has to murder some more people to cover it up.

He's had two severe episodes. He had a seizure two years ago, and a few months ago he had a vestibular episode. I carried him through those the best I could. Honestly a lot of people would have just had him euthanized then. But I held onto him.

It's his time though. If I dragged it on for longer, he may have another episode, and he may not come back from it. I'm choosing to have him put down before he suffers something from which he can't recover.

I'm doing at home euthanasia. He can be put to sleep in his bed, where I will hold his head.
