I remember reading somewhere long before COVID hit about a vaccine in the works that was gonna permanently cure all kinds of COVID variants. The problem was that it was gonna be 7 fucking shots. What actually happened is that the subset of the population that gets off on abusing others, getting attention at all costs and being part of the in power group were given free clemency to go hog wild without repercussions for once. Most of the shit we see in these pictures and videos aren't even remotely effective at counteracting a contagious disease and it's obvious, because that isn't the intent behind the people doing it, it's that they get an excuse to shit on others for not doing the same thing while farming attention for themselves and performatively acting like they are doing the right thing. Some douchebag strapping pool noodles to his head and running around screaming at other people to socially distance isn't actually concerned about not spreading illness at all, but it gives him an excuse to be a huge asshole and get away with it because he's *technically* complying with the overall mandate. Same with assholes cutting holes in their face masks that do basically nothing so they can drink out of a straw. The only way you are properly insulated from contagions like this is to either maintain a LARGE distance from other people, as in don't fucking assemble like this at all, or to wear heavy protective equipment to completely block it. Same with the nurses twerking and posting pictures of superheroes bowing before them, it's attention seeking. Histrionic narcissism and sadism, nothing deeper.To put it in another way: it was 100% the mentality behind witch hunting behavior. 95% of the people burning witches and accusing their neighbors of being witches didn't actually think anyone was a witch at all, or care about innocence or guilt.
