This. I can't believe the Surgeon General was such a chud.
>>
>>220343936
I saw someone who is of the belief that the virus is still raging and that we should go into lockdown again say that Pluribus was an allegory for ending the lockdown too quickly and everyone acting like the problem is gone.
>>
>>220344045
>that year
>>
>>220344594
The surgeon general was actually lying here. He knew full well that kn95 and n95 masks were effective - he just didn't want assholes to hoard them and cause shortages for medical professionals who needed them the most.
>>
>>220344611
He's half right. The virus is still out there. He's just an idiot and doesn't understand that all coronaviruses are just normal viruses. The only thing that made Covid-19 a problem was that it was a novel coronavirus so no one had immunity to it. Every normal cold virus you've ever dealt with in your life was at one point a novel virus for humanity to deal with and gradually people developed anti-bodies to it which you inherit from your mom as an infant.

It's still out there but it isn't any more of a concern than the yearly flu is. The flu kills thousands of boomers every year but we dont freak out about it cause it's business as usual
>>
>>220344045
They should NEVER be allowed to forget how fucking retarded and tyrannical they were. Then should be constantly embarrassed and ridiculed until the day they die. They permanently crippled an entire generation of children and teenagers and we have no idea the magnitude of what we're going to reap in the future from that.
>>
>>220344625
>the virus itself
Obviously nothing, but the most interesting things about covid were indirect effects. I think it made all the young people socially retarded and public trust in the institutions will be impossible to restore in this century.
>>
>>220344379
Crazy that the mentally ill people who voted for Trump were these anti square cloth people. Meanwhile in Japan and Asia this has been the norm for fucking decades.

Also watch Utopia (UK original version). It came out a little bit before covid happened and it got immediately cancelled after season 2 because somebody noticed it was about the upcoming covid event.

The whole series is oddly available on YouTube for free in HD.
>>
>>220343936
It’s the event that destroyed Hollywood and trust in mainstream media. And if you talk to a non NPC that got the vaccine they do regret it. Nobody wants to acknowledge how retarted they were for 3 years.
>>
>>220344625
Because, Anon, let's suppose it was 1900 and corona happened. No pcr no quick tests no lab analysis no vaxxx. People would just think they caught the flu. Not even a foot note in the history books. Why? Because it was literally nothing. Maas hysteria fueled by the internet and social media, incompetent leaders and WHO just poured oil into the fire. None of the measure achieved shit other than piss the 1% who are not brain dead sheep off.
>>
>>220344736
>And if you talk to a non NPC that got the vaccine they do regret it
Yes, I'm sure they're devastated that they received a vaccine that hasn't negatively impacted their health in any way.
>>
>>220344682
It's crazy how people still dont grasp this.

The n95 mask worked perfectly if you wore it the correct way which is why the actual doctors that studied the virus would wear them when examining patients. The problem is, the normal surgical mask that everyone was told to wear only works to prevent droplets from an infected patient from spreading. So it only is useful if you are infected and have no idea so it prevents you from spreading the virus. If the dumb fuck with the virus isnt wearing a mask, and you are, it wouldnt prevent him from giving it to you. However, if everyone wore them, it guarantees that the infected guy has his mouth covered and it stops the virus from spreading.

People had like 4 years to grasp this simple concept and it eluded them. The mere act of asking for a tiny but of participation in a societal group project and they freaked out and started schizo posting about fema camps and nanobots and 5G
>>
the discussion in this thread is a perfect example of why nobody alive wants to see a movie about it

trauma: not dealt with
family: still estranged
movie execs: no
>>
sucks thaty hantavirus already has a vaccine
we could have had another slow the spread
>>
>>220344808
But the mystery juice also had zero effect. This is often memory holed. By the time enough people got it was already as weak as the common cold. Neither did it stop the spread. Some companies and their Jewish handlers made a fortune.

>Spanish Flu killed 50 million people and everybody forgot about it almost immediately
I'm not disagreeing with your assessment of how stupid the scamdemic was, but you should do your research on the Spanish flu. It was actually pretty apocalyptic on a political and social level. People wanted to forget about it as quick as they could because it was so miserable and traumatic, but even President Harding campaigned on a platform of "Returning to Normalcy", which interestingly was the first time the word "normalcy" was ever used publicly.
>>
>>220344842
>But the mystery juice also had zero effect
Except that's not true, but don't let actual facts and studies get in the way of your /pol/ infographics, bud.
>>
>>220344842
There was a lot of misinformation about what the vaccine was supposed to do. Biden never should have said it would prevent you from getting infected. It gave your body a head start on fighting the virus off when you did get infected so it wouldnt be lethal. And it worked.

I would say that it's hard to have a film built on outright lies, but half of hollywood has been dedicating to shoveling out holocrap propaganda.
maybe a film about people being home imprisoned for a year or two and having no faces visible for expressions, people communicating only over video chat and hundreds of thousands of family owned businesses going destitute while all the hospitals remain empty apart from tiktoking nurses isn't a particularly compelling story, especially when the the only villain they'll admit is a mild flu that makes you dizzy for a week or two.
also, the inconsistencies with the timeline wouldn't match up or stand up to scrutiny, things like "masks bad, masks good", and "came from a bat, oh lol slipped out of a lab and we made it ;)" might seem a bit off.
my guess is that they'll wait another 5-10 years until people's memories are fuzzy and then put something out with a singular narrative.

I wasn't arguing that covid was literally the flu, but I'd bet that you, just like everyone else, probably doesn't think we should move heaven and earth, destroy the economy, and totally upend society because of the people observably dying from it. We simply accept it as a part of life and shrug our shoulders because shit happens. Suddenly when the shit happens to you and not abstract numbers on a spreadsheet, now it's time to treat it differently? Sorry that happened to your mom and friend, hope you did right by them as best you could, but grow up.

I think there's plenty of healthy middle ground between:
>lock people in their houses and don't let them out until they die or pass a covid test, ie the China approach
and
>just let grandma die bro my stocks are TANKING
I obviously don't defend or agree with most of the most absurd excesses of the lockdowns, but I do think most of it was well-intentioned and aimed at trying to mitigate a tough public health emergency from people who did not have the benefit of hindsight like we do now.

>my stocks
I don't list the economy because of stock prices or personal investment, but because our way of life is dependent on systems that literally can't ever shut down without disproportionate shocks. I recall during covid that precious metal mining was halted for only like 3 months and the markets for products depending on those took years to "recover".
Then there's the current crisis in the strait of hormuz, where you've got oil refineries that need to close up for now because there's nowhere for it to go, and those aren't just a simple on/off switch.
In other ways, staggering amounts of US farmers have failed to secure fertilizer for the Spring planting season. The error is happening right now, but it won't hit us for a little bit, at which point you can't just fix it by resuming the normal trade of fertilizer.
In a health crisis, people will always die and we need to protect them as best we can but all these kinds of decisions only put more pressure on already vulnerable supply lines. Then we might be fucking over a lot more people than just those most affected by a new virus. We don't have a real choice but to press on.

>>220345784
My mom worked at a big hospital when it happened. She said there were a ton of people just constantly coming in, and once they put you on the ventilator it was pretty much over unless you were young and healthy. I feel bad that she had to see that and go through that. There was one night that she came home with the "proper" face mask and told me to use it in the event that she got sick and was dying because she wanted to see me without spreading it to me. Not every hospital followed procedure but she worked at one of the big well funded ones and they basically had to wear a bunch of gear and get sterilized every day when you come in and when you go out. She would have extra shoes and clothes so she didnt have to bring them home. It's easy to say it was a meme scam, and yes, Trump most likely rigged it so Pfizer, which he has shares in, would profit over Johnson & Johnson, but I know a lot of people who had family members die. I guess if you lived in bumfuck it wouldn't have been a problem but pretty much all major cities got hit and people just act like nobody actually died and it was just a "flu". A flu does not directly attack your organs like a coronavirus does.

A coronavirus mutates on average 40 times per 24 hours in each host. I’m sure you’re referencing some mainstream media source as facts and studies but if you’ve studied virology the moment they said it was a coronavirus before marketing it as Covid-19 you would have shrugged your shoulders and said “well shit everyone is going to get this virus no matter what”. But no, CNN had a death counter on screen and labeled Fauci as “The Science”. The original Covid vaccine was probably effective for 30 minutes at best and only in first few thousand patients that received it.
>>
>>220347331
Eddington is kind of a paranoia fever dream horror movie about how modern media and the internet stokes societal infighting so that megacorps can do whatever they want, it's barely about covid.
