average intelligence has declined since 1970s
>>220346386The distance between people who lived through world war 2 and those people who didn’t will grow larger.
thin red line is great
>>220346386Nuremberg was good.
>>220346413wrong, millennials were the highest IQ generation since the beginning of mankind, proven by science. gen Z are reverting the trend though and gen alpha may prove your point, we'll have to wait.
>>220346508>millennials were the highest IQ generationwhich is why they can only produce self-ironic sarcastic futurama slop?if this is the highest IQ generation then I can't for an asteroid to wipe out this cucked species
>>220346386The former purpose was to celebrate the soldiers, the current purpose is to cry about jews
>>220346508Yes, the browner generations will be dumber
>>220346386Dunkirk is great and Nuremberg is good and explicitly set after World War 2. Why are you so retarded?
>>220346386Honestly, I feel like most WW2 movies have an issue of not having a real narrative. It's just mostly shooting and some comrades dying. And most of these don't even focus on individual character but like a dozen, and nobody gets character development. My favorite WW2 movie is probably Black Book, it is about a Dutch Jew who sucks Nazi cock in order to spy on them.
>>220346612>durr millennials suck lookee here hurr!>*displays 3rd world outsourced aryanslop*such own, much rekt!
>>220346710>Dunkirk is great and Nuremberg is goodSuch horrible taste. Can you even say why you liked them?
because modern movies are written by writing staffs with large ratio of females in them, and the old ones werent. its literally thats simple.
>>220346721look retard, I know your ilk likes to talk about shit you don't understand, but at most they will outsource textures, coding, QA testing and whateverwriting and all that shit is happening in-house you dumb retard, so yeah, millennials can only produce such slop because they themselves grew up consuming slop and now they are regurgitating it back when it's their turn to create media and shape culturecan't wait for gen alpha/beta/whatever to be lectured on nazism and late-stage capitalism all day
All WW2 movies suck.
>>220346612you've completely missed the point, lil zoom zoom
>>220346787>writing and all that shit is happening in-house you dumb retardthose are the H-1Bs you idiot gen Xer
>>220346612Literally everything about millennials is atrocious.Especially their politics.>inb4 "n-no, that's all somehow le zoomers fault!!"
>>220346386A bridge too far wasn't that great
>>220346386Das Boot is the only ww2 movie worth watching
>>22034638660s and 70s war movies were pure fantasy propaganda bearing almost no connections to real events. There were all kinds of fun but fictional war movies like Where Eagles Dare, Kelly's Heros or The Guns of Navarone. Most more recent war movies try to be more realistic like Saving Private Ryan or Dunkirk. Now all the hollywood war fantasy propaganda is in movies like Top Gun Maverick.
>>220346450lol
>>220346814How about you stop talking about shit you don't understand? You can go through all those games and I dare you to find one Rakesh or Mahmood in the "Writer" credits you imbecilemillennials are writing and developing this trash, deal with it, shifting blame on someone else doesn't magically solve the problemso much for (supposedly) highest IQ and total inability to accept responsibility
>>220346846Robert Redfords scenes in that movie are comically bad. You can tell they just wanted to boost the female box office.
>>220346467>communism, show trials and torture>fuck yeahyou're jewish.

>>220347078>Those writers only touch up what the indians producedand other incedible totally not fictional stories pulled out of your gaping ass, you give jeets too much credit for some reason> I'm way better versed on this subject than youalso an arrogant retard, as if the rest wasn't enough to bury your argument
>>220346386What the fuck is it with boomers and bridges?
>>220346508If millennials are the highest IQ generation, what are you? The exception that proves the rule?
>>220347123You will never be Millennail, gen Xer retard. Your ilk is low IQ and boomers own your shit.
>>220347204I'm a zoomer btw so your impotent seething makes even less senseyou also didn't address any of the points so I accept your concession
>>220347200He didn't say anything wrong you esl moron
>>220347150It was a great metaphor. Only Kojima still cares about bridges now.
Dunkirk is good and unironically better than the 50s version. As someone who has watched A LOT of WW2 movies I can tell you a lot of the shit has been filtered out by time. For every Bridge on the River Kwai or Ice Cold in Alex there's shit like 'The War Lover', 'Battle of the Last Panzer' and 'Anzio', which were even slated when they came out. How many people remember those? That's not even getting into the propaganda flicks they made during the war which majorly suffered from budget/filming restrictions. It's just such a ubiquitously filmed subject that obviously you get good and bad films about it all the time. Also one of the weirdest things is that in terms of historical accuracy a lot of shit has improved. I've seen dozens of flicks from the 50s and 60s where they just painted a Sherman grey and slapped an iron cross decal on it and called it a Panther. At least now they would make an attempt to make it realistic.
>>220347222Why are you writing in the third person?
>>220347221>I'm a zoomer btwSame outcome, yer a low IQ retard. You will never own a home, little zoomie.
>>220347262Yer a wizard, Harry.
>>220346386Because most of them are made by retarded americans
>>220347255>Also one of the weirdest things is that in terms of historical accuracy a lot of shit has improved. For me it is the scene in Patton where, where Patton yells during battle "I read your book Rommel!" which is kinema I guess, it is just that rommeal had written book just year ago, and there was no way english translation of it was available to him
>>220346386>Sir Michael Caine's scripted line to order the column of tanks and armored cars into battle, was "Forward, go, charge." Luckily for Caine, Lieutenant Colonel J.O.E. Vandeleur was on the set, so he could ask him what the actual line was. Vandeleur told him, "I just said quietly into the microphone, 'Well, get a move on, then,'" which is what Caine says in the movie.Back in the day you not only had actors like Dirk Bogarde who was a ww2 veteran and literally knew the general he was playing, but you had on set advisors there who had fought in the actual battles they were filming recreations of, with the source material having being written by someone who was a war correspondent who travelled with Pattons Third Army. I think they would mostly agree that modern war films when the bullets start flying make it look a whole lot more realistic and truthfully grim, but acting and writing wise its ofc harder to get the feel right. Queesn english received pronunciation doesnt really sound as legit either coming from actors who werent surrounded by it like those born 100 years ago were.
>>220346386The only people still making WWII movies are Americans and Chinese, which means they're going to be Jewish and Commie propaganda, respectively.
>>220347280I'm a what?
>>220346442even with people of the same generation you get widely differing opinions. I worked at an AFRES base with a shitload of Vietnam and Desert Storm veterans, who were retired and in civil service or still in the ANG/AFRES. Never found even one who regretted his active service or his tours of duty in war zones. Not even one. If anything, they regretted not having the chance to win in Vietnam. They had nothing but disdain and disgust for whiny veterans and films like "Born on the Fourth of July" and similar movies.
>>220347078Goddamn millennials are fuckin stupid
>>220347444>They had nothing but disdain and disgust for whiny veterans and films like "Born on the Fourth of July" and similar movies.why is this so common. every veteran now feels like they have to lament hollywood style when talking about it
Midway was surprisingly historically accurate. Yeah it was pretty gung-ho propganda but I actually enjoyed the dive bombing scenes. If youre going to do WW2 propaganda at least make it look cool which i feel liked Midway sorta did https://youtu.be/KP9Q3FQ6SXw?si=s8-_WzkbH4izYu3j
>>220346386I actually liked midway, it was dumb retarded and simple war movie. way better than Nolan slop with his dogshit editing and nonsensical details that break the movie pace for absolutely no reason
>>220347562Yeah I laughed when they introduced 'Dick Best'. Dude really was called Dick Best and he really did drop a bullseye through the Rising Sun on the deck of the Akagi.
>>220347014I thought he did OK, basically just ran around and shot a Garand.
>>220347444You can generally tell the difference between war veterans who have been in it for several years and the ones who fought for a few weeks or months in that the latter are the ones who have this “boo hoo war is so bad” attitude while the former have long gotten used to it and view it neutrally. The latter are also the ones who get PTSD the most because their nervous systems haven’t had time to get used to the constant stress before getting pulled off the front lines so they are stuck in this neural purgatory zone between civilian and fighter mode.
>>220346386Replace any of the bottom three with Cross of Iron.
this my favorite modern WWII movie
>>220347065no u
OP's bottom three movies span 20 yearsStart with the most recent good WW2 movie and count back 20 years, you'll bag the modern classicsconclusion: retard
>>220346386cause back then they were made by guys who lived through it
>>220347484 because the only vets you hear from are the ones who make it their entire personality. The normal dudes who did their tour, came home, got a job and shut the fuck up aren’t doing TED talks or writing memoirs.Hollywood also trained everyone to package their experiences as “trauma content.” If you don’t frame it like some tortured monologue about the loss of innocence you don’t get a book deal or a podcast circuit. So the media keeps amplifying the same lament-core narrative until it feels universal.Plenty of guys are just like “yeah it sucked, anyway,” but that doesn’t sell tickets.
>>220346821>t. assmad zoomerKWAB
>>220346792What was some polish conscript supposed to do? Go "yeah you flattened my village but it was necessary to pwn the jews, we're cool bro"?

M*llenials absolutely seething
>>220350796Nice.
>
the old movies were made by people that believed the propaganda, the new ones are made by faggots and commies who want to send a message not make you feel something. >>220346467It's terrible. Feels like a netflix script made for the common denominator
Saving Private Ryan is the last good WWII movie.
>>220346450wouldn't consider it modern anymore
>>220346386Midway is KINO, Dunkirk is Ambien in movie form and Nuremberg I haven't watched because I don't think about Holohoax flicks at all.
>>220346386All these new stories lack positive acknowledgement of human spirit, or human spirit at all.No wonder they are registered by human brains as noise and nothing else
>>220346386I now this will sound like a basic bitch opinion but ww2 movies peaked with Saving Private Ryan and maybe Thin Red Line too. I'm generally not averse to old movies but something about 60s/70s war movies just doen't hit the spot for me, they feel especially dated compared to not only other war movies from the 80s/90s but compared to 60s/70s contemporary cinema too.
>>220353335tried re watching it, had to fast forward through the 'banter', fucking awful.
