How could they top Rise/Dawn/War lmao Kingdom was just okay
>>220349871I don't think it's a full-on reboot, it's just not a direct sequel to Kingdom.
>>220350027Yeah, there's like 2000 years between these new Planet of the Apes movies and the originals, so they can basically tell any story they want and say it's all part of the same timeline
I have an idea if you want to do the "astronaut lands on a Planet of Apes" story again>Ape society has advanced further. They wear clothes, know math and science, etc. Similar to the 1968 version.>They know the rough timeline of the fall of Man and the rise of Ape, but there are still a lot of blank pages.>The Apes seek knowledge and enlightenment, but most humans are feral. The ones that aren't would be hostile to Ape due to the long history of war between them.>An astronaut however, is another matter. Someone who is essentially a time traveler from the past who would have no reason to hate Apes.>The Apes know that a rocket is going to return to Earth, and have calculated where and when it would arrive.>The astronaut is greeted by thousands of Apes who are excited to see them.>While at first it seems that the Apes are united in their excitement for this human's return to Earth, in fact there are a lot of factions wanting the human for different reasons.>Scientists and historians who want their theories confirmed or debunked.>Military-minded gorillas that want more knowledge about planes, powered flight etc>Meanwhile, the bewildered astronaut is being passed around, treated like a celebrity but also gawked at like an animal in the zoo (insert social commentary here)I dunno how the movie would end. It could be depressing or hopeful depending on the tone of the movie. But I think that instead of "Apes are scared of this smart human", we could do "Apes want something from this human, and our human has to decide who to trust."
