Is it better than the book?
>>
No

No but it's better than the George Clooney TV version.
>>
book was shit too. its only noteworthy for the meme
>>
Bridge on the River Kwai is the only one of those post war novels with an absolutely great adaptation.
Slaughterhouse-five honorable mention for really trying.

The book is pretty good and no movie is going to match that.
Plus, the fun part was getting to talk about a shithead in your high school English class.

>is it better than the best book of the 20th century?

No

There isn't a way for a movie to match the book. Reading the words on paper is fundamental to the character and tone of the story.

I read the book before I saw the movie but knew it existed. I realized about two chapters in that this wouldn’t work well on film. The movie isn’t bad but the book is far different and better.

I liked that too though.

This is false the movie version is retarded and the miniseries is good
Here's how you tell: If the movie takes "feathers in his cap" literally when the Colonel guy is reviewing his career, it's retarded and not good at literature. Advantage Clooney.
It looked great, too

I enjoyed the mini series

Maybe not but it's a good film and it's a shame it's never had a proper HD release. The scene with the Old Man in the Chair and the Snowden scene were handled really nicely. One thing the film does better than the book is the confrontation between Yossarian and Milo near the end. Buck Henry added the line "Then they'll understand" and Heller said he wish he'd thought of it. Great delivery.

The book isn't great.
You can get out of the army if you are crazy but the crazy ones are the ones that want to be there so trying to get out means you aren't crazy.
That's the joke, and it just repeats.

>ulysses
Fucking retard. Since when did we start calling books by the protagonist?
>>

Since Odysseus
