I just finished it for the first time. I don't know why it gets so much hate around here, I thought it was good up until the point Rick left. His charisma really carried the show.Daryl and Carol were also great. I liked Negan too, but I am still pissed that they killed my waifu Beth in such a dumb way and then killed my replacement waifu Enid in such a horrific way.
i actually cant stand rick and his fake country accept which sounds like a mockery of us. yeah a lot of us are retards but without what we create, everyone would be dead, especially without food from our farms.
>>220354010rick grimes, heh, more like dick shite
>>220354010The exact point the show died was about halfway through the season where Negan got introduced as a main character The storyline was ok up to that point, Glenn dying and ricks cuck arc and Daryl captive and blah blah blah. But they just totally lost the plot. The scripts went to complete shit. Random characters nobody gave a fuck about got centre stage. Major characters started dying because the actors wanted salaries. There was no hope of recovery after Carl died. The relationship between him and rick, the contrast of someone who grew up in the new world vs someone who didn't, was the core of the show. It could not survive or be interesting without Carl and rick. It's like star wars without Luke and Vader. Just totally pointless
>>220354089I did think it was dumb that they killed him off but it still kept me invested for a while afterward, and I liked the end of the Savior's arc - Eugene's double cross was something I didn't see coming.
>>220354058>you best not make fun of muh farm hyuuck
>>220354010>I don't know why it gets so much hate around hereI have mixed feelings about the show. common complaints is that the show was clearly milked. i personally hate how they set up the zombies to always be a constant problem that could never be solves. since the virus is dormant in everyone. even if they were on a desert island. 1 person dies and zombies could spread. which was done intentionally to milk the show. in fact the comics or whatever never even went too deep into why it was happening. which was a great way for him to milk the story as well.most the actors in this show are good. rick, daryl..........daryl.........merle.........who else was good in this? maybe shane. all the women were kinda shit and dead weight except muh heckin black samurai sword wielding QWEEEEEENyawn. its a shame. cut it down to 5, maybe 7 seasons and give it a good storyline and a good ending. but no. just milk milk milk milk milk milk milkoh yeah did you see they have several spin off shows of this so they can milk it some more, because they couldn't even really finish the original storyline.
>>220354010>I don't know why it gets so much hate around hereImagine watching it in real time. Imagine seeing an 8 episode season starting, they end the first episode on a massive cliffhanger, and the following 3 weeks are bottle episodes of some character you're not interested in. Oh and when they DO get back to Rick, the plot barely advances until the mid season Finale
There was a Discord group of amateur video editors that were going to make a 100 episode supercut that improves the pacing. No idea what happened to it, last I heard they were waiting for the Rick spin off to integrate it in to the package. I'd rather watch that than a rewatch 2bh
>>220354379>Imagine watching it in real time. Imagine seeing an 8 episode season starting, they end the first episode on a massive cliffhanger, and the following 3 weeks are bottle episodes of some character you're not interested in.Yeah, I get that. Watching it all on streaming after it was over made the shittier episodes less annoying.
>>220354010It's a very repetitive formula that gets old even with their villain of the week thrown in.>group finds a safe place>build defenses>they get btfo in a direct confrontation or infiltrated because of some drama subplot>big shootout after which zombies overrun the safe place and survivors scatter>rinse and repeatI stopped watching after season 2. I still think it was a total waste when they just killed off the Hispanic gang after introducing them as a potential ally/outpost.
>>220354416fan edits are reddit
>>220354379I'm still pissed at that one scene>Glenn and another guy are on top of a container, surrounded by an entire horde>other guy panics, falls and drags Glenn down with him>episode ends with Glenn supine on the ground watching zombies tear his guts out>one week later they show that sike, it was all a camera trick and the one getting his guts ripped out was the other guy laying sideways on top of Glenn>Glenn just crawls under a car or something and waits there undisturbed until the hundreds of zombies simply fuck offsuch a lame bait and switch, also it was too inconsistent how the survivors would sometimes struggle against 3/4 zombies while also managing to survive entire hordes and being shown killing them by the dozen easily
>>220354010Season 1 is flawed but good, then from season 2-9 it's pretty much shit but with 1 good episode per season, usually the mid-season finale. That keeps people hooked. Season 10-11 is absolute tripe. Some standout garbage moments:>eugene makes all of the saviours ammo backfire, which only happens when they all stand in a big line and fire at once, never having tested the ammo beforehand lmao>glenn surviving under the dumpster, guess it was that easy all along>that fucking training scene on the beach, genuinely felt like anime, so fucking cringe>in the last couple of episodes, it's revealed that some zombies are smarter than others, can open doors, climb etc. This is shown in the first season but never brought up again until season 11, but it is used to cover up the shitty writing by explaining why some zombies hid/stayed quiet/played dead (which was definitely always a plan and not bad writing)>rosita blows up a guy with a rocket launcher in a warehouse and he just explodes, but the rest of the place is fine>cgi deer>trash people>that whole bit with the zombie down the well, how they have to pull it out carefully, nearly kill glenn getting a rope around it, then it tears in half and now the well can't be drank from. But if they got him out it would be fine. But while he was in there it wasn't. Genius.>a herd of walkers takes over their town, knocks down the walls. Rick goes outside and starts fighting them because he's sad Carl got shot. Everyone else goes with him and fights. They kill hundreds. Turns out it was that easy, huh.>Negan about to kill Rick and Carl, then a tiger shows up and Negan just peaces out lmao>carl's death>that entire group Judith saves when the timeskip happens, not a single memorable character among them (although the horror episode with the deaf girl in that spooky house is retardedly fun)It's crazy how many more there are, this show is such a stupid piece of shit and so am I for watching it.
>>220354379Yeah this is it. I can't believe I watched 7 years of this show in real time when the problem you described started in the second fucking season. I imagine it's different when you binge it, but week after week after week of pointless bottle episodes full of the slowest trudging through forests of all time will kill anyone's enjoyment. I kept watching to see the most hyped up moments from the comics, like the cannibals and obviously Negan, and they fucked most of those up too so I eventually stopped giving a shit. Weirdly I stopped thinking about the show immediately after I quit watching it and only ever thought about it again when I saw /tv/ shitposts about the CGI deer or whatever. Made me think why I even bothered watching it in the first place.
>>220355580>>eugene makes all of the saviours ammo backfire, which only happens when they all stand in a big line and fire at once, never having tested the ammo beforehand lmaoThis one I give a pass for a few reasons, first of all he did make legit ammo at first before deciding to double cross them, second because bullets are in such short supply they're going to conserve them as much as possible.>glenn surviving under the dumpster, guess it was that easy all alongI watched this saying "why the fuck are intestines coming out of his shoulder? that's retarded". I still didn't guess the fake out death though.>that fucking training scene on the beach, genuinely felt like anime, so fucking cringeI don't remember this.>in the last couple of episodes, it's revealed that some zombies are smarter than othersI just assumed that some had been "alive" for some long they'd started to get smarter. I don't remember it being hinted at in s1>rosita blows up a guy with a rocket launcher in a warehouse and he just explodes, but the rest of the place is fine>cgi deer>trash people>that whole bit with the zombie down the wellAll of that was retarded.>They kill hundreds. Turns out it was that easy, huh.I give this a pass, they were pushed to their limits and had no other choice.>Negan about to kill Rick and Carl, then a tiger shows upMore than the tiger I hated this because Negan was apparently ready to kill Carl, which flies in the face of his characterization both before and after that scene.>that entire group Judith saves when the timeskip happens, not a single memorable characterThe one guy I always referred to in my head as "fat sitcom neighbor" because that's what he reminded me of.
>>220355695>This one I give a pass for a few reasons, first of all he did make legit ammo at first before deciding to double cross them, second because bullets are in such short supply they're going to conserve them as much as possible.Eugene's loyalty was already in question, and even if his wasn't, Gabriel's certainly was, and he made a lot of the bullets. Not testing them at all was beyond crazy. Also you are leading a group of unhinged people, but again, not a single one of them shot a random bullet before the big confrontation?>not remembering the beach trainingIt's the start of season 10 I believe, I genuinely think it's the worst scene in the whole show.>I just assumed that some had been "alive" for some long they'd started to get smarter. I don't remember it being hinted at in s1In season 1 there's one holding a rock smashing the door in the building, episode 2 I believe. Also episode 2 there's one climbing the ladder after Rick and Glenn.>I give this a pass, they were pushed to their limits and had no other choice. Not a single person died during that last hurrah, they just...won. If the zombies are that unthreatening now, what's the point? It's also forgetting the reason the zombies were there in the first place: they were herding them out of that gorge and along a path and they came towards the town when they got attacked by the wolves.>More than the tiger I hated this because Negan was apparently ready to kill Carl, which flies in the face of his characterization both before and after that scene. If I remember right, Negan was sort of upset about this, but was backed into a corner by Rick, because otherwise he would appear weak. Could just kill Rick though I guess.
>>220355580>>that entire group Judith saves when the timeskip happens, not a single memorable character among themUnironically this is what happens in the comic too, one of the more accurate moments
>>220355580>>eugene makes all of the saviours ammo backfire, which only happens when they all stand in a big line and fire at once, never having tested the ammo beforehand lmaoAll they needed was a throwaway line from Negan like>We're going to need all the ammo we have for this, you see a walker you take it down by handAnd it would've been fine. The fact that it was the turning point in the war was stupid. Like not a single person there used old ammo?
>>220354010The problem is that it lacked any stakesAt the end of season 1, we learned that when you turn into a zombie, there's no cure and you're gone foreverAt the end of season 2, we learned that it doesn't matter if you're bitten or not - everybody is going to turn into a zombie when they dieSo...what's the point of watching? Seriously. There's no reason to stay invested beyond that point because it means there's not going to be any chance of mankind's resurgence or any meaningful recovery. It's just going to be factions of survivors battling it out again and again and again with hordes of zombies constantly in the backdrop>Oh look, this character just died so they're going to turn into a zombie now>There's another one but it's fine, they've been replaced by another survivor>Oh, time for another faction war? >Aaaand everybody's united against the zombies again until their differences starting manifesting
>>220356259The stakes were the friends we made along the way
