I suspected but had no actual framework for my belief that Big Academia is wrong and that blond haired supermen had an advanced globe-spanning civilization on Earth in the distant past. They also, very clearly, mastered ESP and telekinesis and probably had video games and entertainment featuring futanari elves with balls. There are no male elves, they are all futanari and they are ashamed of their sex drives and procreation habits and they blush a lot and try to conceal their large penises with foreskin and balls as well. This was all kept from us but the collective genetic memory of humans can't keep it repressed forever and I'm glad it's all coming out now and that someone understands.

Yep. You know graham lost when he immediately made a solo cope video and then ran back to Rogaine's podcast alone without Dibble there to question him to save face.
>>
>>220361350
The Hancock and Dibble "debate" was a mess. On the surface, it looks like Dibble won because Hancock did nothing but discuss semantics, but you can't even say the matter is closed because we never got to hear a proper conversation about it. Gobekli Tepe being considered as built by a roaming civilization (which doesn't make sense) and the mystery of the Great Pyramid are two of the obvious ones. I think Dibble has said that we know the Great Pyramid is a tomb, which is simply untrue when you just look at the details and layout of it.

I think, though, what really swayed me in not trusting Dibble is when Rogan had Zahi Hawass on, and then Dibble made a commentary video a couple of days later analyzing their discussion and praised Hawass while saying he absolutely nailed the interview and said all the right things.
>>
Graham got taken apart casually but some archeologist's apprentice. They didn't even send a proper hatchet man but a boy to make his bones taking down a Danikensian in the wild.
He probably got a tattoo of a raptor talon after that kill.

>>220362204
There's a lot of weird things that do not line up with the smaller pyramids around it, where some of those were confirmed to be tombs. No mummies or artifacts were ever found confirming it was a burial place. The supposed sarcophagus was far too big to be built and placed after the structure was built, suggesting it was built during the time of its construction instead. The layout doesn't match what was known for their burial practices, including weird chambers and shafts. Lots of weird chemical reaction residues found on the inner walls. Some of the water erosion suggests that it may predate Khufu, who is accredited to commissioning the pyramid. The masonry work also looks more advanced than some of the other pyramids and burial sites surrounding it, suggesting two different time periods.

>>220362285
Popular theory that it's a much older structure and they built tombs around it, possibly thinking it was a holy site because why else would a giant unnatural structure be there?
>>
>>220362285

The pyramids have been carbon dated, mongs. The organic material used as part of the mortar inside the rubble fill was carbon dated. There's a discrepancy of a couple of hundreds of years with the mainstream timeline but it's not "much older" than its surrounding archaeological context.
>>
>>220362236

>>
>>220362382
There is a stone box inside. It is very large. The passages in the pyramid are very small and narrow. It would be way too inconvenient and in some cases impossible to carve the box, and then try to have people carry it inside the chamber. Therefore, box must have been carved before the walls went up. This is not how people made coffins.
>>
>>220362396
I heard that some stones in the Pyramids are older than time itself, perhaps brought over from the universe before this one.

>>
>>220362628
They were taken from behind the outer limestone casing stones, and so could only come from the original building.
This is another thing retards like to spout about the pyramids and how accurately cut the stones are - most of the structure is roughly cut and split rubble fill cemented with a very rudimentary mortar, it's only the spaces accessible and viewable to people (like the outer limestone casing stones and the interior corridors) that are finely finished. Even the King's Chamber's "relieving chambers" after they had been dynamited were found to be roughly shaped because no one would see those chambers.
>>
>>220362707
It's not a coffin moron. It's a stone sarcophagus. Sarcophagi are meant to be immovable. Genuine retard moment right here.
You think King Tut's sarcophagus is weird too because they can't remove it from the tomb? Was King Tut a battery?

his smearing of Hancock as being a fake archeologist at its core is a complaint about money. he thinks Hancock as a fraudster wasting financers funds on "fake" archeological studies that will never happen because he feels like they wont find anything. but in reality archeology is literally digging in the ground looking for shit. yeah you can make some inferences on where its likely to find dinosaurs or other things using carbon dating to help measure where the sediment is. but what Hancock is doing is he wants to study the Amazon and the coasts. during the ice age the oceans were back around 200 miles from the coast we see today. so yeah its a big area of search. but dibble and reddit thinks is the biggest waste of time and many people should see it as the new horizon for discoveries.
end of the day in dibbles mind he has the archeology degree and the "wisdom" to make new discoveries and he feels like he deserves the funding. but the problem is that he is a seed archeologist. and lets be honest who the fuck cares about seeds?
its like you have 1 million dollars right now that you can either give to dibble and his research, or give to Hancock and his research. even if dibble comes back with a new discovery, did you even really win in the end blowing your money on this retard?
its that black and white. and dibble might be more of a shyster himself spreading misinfo like this anyways.

That applies far more to 4chan than the 'general masses'.
It isn't just that, though. It's the fact that Hancock, like all of these people, spins a narrative that is built on 'here's what the establishment and the lamstream media don't want you to know!'. That is obviously appealing to a lot of his audience.
Rogan's audience is made up of a lot of people who are 'free thinkers who don't trust the experts' but regurgitate every word of some random person talking into a webcam on youtube.

There is a lot of dislike of experts these days and it is because every idiot thinks their own uninformed opinion on a subject is as valid as someone who has spent 50 years studying it.

you're still not getting it. most people are morons and don't have the mental capacity to parse facts. it's not what they're told or not told or whether they have access. they're just that stupid. you're probably too sheltered to realize this. you're operating under the assumption that an average person is a rational being that has the capability to parse information. this is not true.

>>
>>220367082
its not about being able to parse information, most people just dont care what you think is a fact or not. if you are sperging out citing information you memorized about some obscure topic, they'll just nod and smile. people parse information just when if its something they actually care about
>>
>>220362972
>there are shafts surrounding and beneath it that are full of human remains therefore the louvre is a tomb
Yes we know about the mastabas. The fact that humans were buried in proximity to the great pyramid still doesn't indicate that the pyramid itself was a tomb no matter how much you lot cry about it. No bodies were found within it and it was built with portcullises designed in such a way to be both opened and closed repeatedly. If it were designed as a sealed tomb there is no reason to have movable portcullises. Why would they go through all that trouble to make it accessible and then not inter a body in there? The truth is it was used in its time what we use it for today. Religious pilgrimage and tourism. It's far closer to Notre Dame than it is a tomb. It was to its culture in its time what cathedrals are in the west.

to which flint, a white man wants to virtue signal how that's wrong that graham is white and takes pride in his own people's history, meanwhile flints main belief is leaving his own name in the history books.

There's also the one about the lack of atmospheric lead levels in ice cores as a proxy for historical metalworking indicating there was none before the modern industrial era. The only problem is the assays used to get historical co2 trends (the data being held up as evidence supporting Flint's position) do not test for lead levels at all which raises significant questions as to why he made the claim with that evidence in the first place. Especially considering how willing the very researchers who generated much of that data were to talk about the subject and how baffled they were that he tried drawing that conclusion without reaching out to them first.

I don't like to assume people are dumb or acting in bad faith, but Hancock really is just a quack at best, or somebody who is dishonestly pushing stuff he knows is nonsense at worst.

I keep up with the scholarly research on Mesoamerican (Aztec, Maya etc) history and archeology, and some of the stuff he says in Ancient Apocalypse is just impossible to interpret as anything but him being very ignorant or dishonest. Happy to clarify on this

>his criticisms of the archaeological and scientific communities is spot on

No, they aren't. There's legit issues with academic archeology, museums etc that "gatekeeps" out the public, like how research is put behind paywalls, how often not all the maps, datasets, and photos are published alongside the papers, or how museums + nstitutions will copyright photos they make of ancient artifacts even though the pieces themselves are obviously Public Domain, etc

None of that is stuff Hancock talks about, instead he alleges a grand conspiracy to hide the truth and insists that researchers won't engage with non professionals. in reality tons of researchers and academics will happily speak to you if you email them as a random nobody provided you're not acting like a conceited jackass and show you have interest in the topic and are coming from a place of good faith.

I can say that from experience, I speak with academic archeologists all the time, and out of hundreds of interactions I've only had like, 2 ever where I got blown off or insulted for not being a academic myself

As I said last post, I think Hancock's stuff is nonsense, but something Dibble got wrong is that when Hancock started to talk about Quetzalcoatl being white and bearded and blond, Dibble pulled up a depiction of Quetzalcoatl in the Codex Borgia (pic) to prove Hancock wrong, and (at least from the clip I've seen), Dibble thought this disproved Hancock and even Hancock looked dissapointed as if he had been proven wrong

When in reality (and I guess they all missed this because admittedly the artwork is kind of visually busy and hard to intuitively interpret at a glance), that depiction of Quetzalcoatl IS bearded and does have blond hair: You can see his blond/yellow beard if you look closely

The thing is, it's not a particularly meaningful observation: The Mesoamericans could and did just have facial hair: Moctezuma II is described as having a beard and a light mustache in many Spanish accounts (and these same accounts also say he had dark skin "typical of an indian", so don't think that must mean Moctezuma was white), we have ethnographic accounts which describe how they plucked their facial hair out, or did heat treatments to ward off it's growth, and how there were social expectations around men not having facial hair unless they were royalty or elderly: A lot of wise, eldrly gods are depicted in Mesoamerican art with beards.

The yellow color is a bit more puzzling, but golden colors were associated with divinity and the sun (gold was likened to the sun's feces, actually), and the color is probably symbolic, alternatively we do have some sources which describe golden hair dyes made from the same plant the Aztec also used to produce soaps, which might have been used. For comparison, some Aztec gods are shown with brillant red, blue, white-and-red striped skin etc, so it's probably best to just not take the colors literally all the time.

Also, there are no reputable accounts or depictions that give Quetzalcoatl white skin (Some sources call him the "White Tezcatlipoca", but this is a symbolic connection, not commentary on his apperance, and even that is actually just a misreading of the Coded Ramirez) In fact, as seen in the Codex Borgia art I posted, he's often depicted with BLACK body paint, like priests

As far as I can tell, all the accounts which claim he had white skin (and which tend to emphasize his blond hair, which as I said is depicted sometimes in legit Mesoamerican art, but isn't usually emphasized in their myths), and arrived from the east/the sea (there are legit narratives which talk about him LEAVING to go across the sea to the east, but no early ones which describe him arriving from there that I know of, though there are some which could be construed that he/the Aztec were foreigners in a more general sense rather then specifically from across the ocean) are written centuries after the fact and twist and invent details to push their narrative of him being white/European

Even the "original" 16th century sources those later accounts draw on and twist/change the details of, are already themselves distorted and revisionist: Most of these earlier 16thC sources about Quetzalcoatl were already first being recorded decades after Spanish contact and already show signs of being changed from that Spanish oversight, such as in pic related where there's obvious influences from Eden, the original sin, etc

I post a more concise version of a lot of the info I go over in >>220372095 and >>220372433, here: https://desuarchive.org/his/thread/17404007/#17407659 , but this version ends up being just as long as what I posted in this thread, since even though I am more concise in that thread, I also cover extra points I didn't in this one

Meanwhile what I posted in >>220371986 isn't even long, it's about 3 lines of info about two topics each.

>>220372627
I didn't say that using anecdotes is defensible or is valid (they aren't valid), I said that there's not much anybody can really say about the allegation other then use anecdotes. Graham's claims of there being a conspiracy to shut out outsiders and hide the truth isn't falsifiable. How do you expect people to engage with and talk about it, if not with anecdotes?

You're right that you have no real way to prove the accuracy of what I said with my experiences speaking to academics (I mean, I guess I could post screencaps of my emails with them, but I'm not doing that), so I'm not blaming you for not believing me, what I take issue with is the implication that there's anything else I or anybody else can do or say counter Hancock's accusation.

Like, I guess you could run a study where you randomly email a few hundred archeologists, pretending to be an interested hobbyist, and see how many of them reply or not, but there's no research like that.

Woke revisionism has completely hand waived away his "whiteness" as a eurocentric, colonizer fabrication.

Well, there was the bit about Hancock being the Jan6 mastermind, but that's not archaeology related.
>>
>>220372748
Of course it's okay, but that doesn't mean the Aztec had white gods. They didn't.

I mean, there's Mixcoatl, but pic related probably isn't what you mean by "white". Last time I checked we didn't have candy-cane skin.

>>220372803
No, as I said, the idea that he's white is itself revisionism that only comes up in accounts written many, many decades or even centuries after the fact. There's no visual depictions or accounts from before Spanish contact, or even before the the 17th century, which show or describe him as white.

If you think otherwise, find and post one.

>>220373076
He did do this though. That's pretty much what he implies in the Mesoamerica episode of Ancient Apocalypse, when he claims that Quetzalcoatl had European features and arrived from across the ocean to give the Mesoamericans advanced technology and that that was (at least) a mythologized version of his Ice Age global civilization coming over
>>
If you watched the full 4 hour debate and still think Hancock has any credibility whatsoever, you are a complete moron.
>>
>>220372433
>Even the "original" 16th century sources those later accounts draw on and twist/change the details of, are already themselves distorted and revisionist: Most of these earlier 16thC sources about Quetzalcoatl were already first being recorded decades after Spanish contact and already show signs of being changed from that Spanish oversight, such as in pic related where there's obvious influences from Eden, the original sin, etc
Yeah, there was an incentive for the natives to suck up to the Spaniards by claiming their ancestors ACKSHUALLY thought sacrificing humans was barbaric and they only worshiped one god and hey he kinda sounds like this Jesus fellow you boys are into. At the same time, European priests would make their own edits to historical accounts to prove that the natives could be converted to Christianity given enough time and resources.

Correct, though I would say

> At the same time, European priests would make their own edits to historical accounts to prove that the natives could be converted to Christianity given enough time and resources.

This was less as you describe here, and more that by revising and twisting Prehispanic myths to have more similarities with Catholicism or by making it seem like Spanish rule was preordained and anticipated by omens, it made it easier to convert people, rather then it being an issue of those changes making it easier to argue that they could be converted, as you describe

Sure, I can list some sources

Pic related from "The Allure of Nezahualcoyotl" by Lee touches on what I said there a bit. "7 Myths of the Spanish Conquest" by Restall also touches on it a lot.

"Burying the White Gods" by Townsend (http://web.archive.org/web/20240619194021/https://www.hallofmaat.com/americas/burying-the-white-gods-new-perspectives-on-the-conquest-of-mexico/) also probably does, but it's outdated in other ways, with it's praise of Gun, Germs, and Steel and by extension it overemphasizes the technology gap as a factor in why the Spanish beat the Aztec (and to be clear, the tech gap WAS an important factor, but GG&S overstates it compared to diseases and the way mesoamerican politics worked contributing to states allying with the Spanish, which were even bigger factors, plus GG&S has a ton of other errors), and I also wouldn't be as skeptical as Townsend is in arguing that ALL the details in the Spanish accounts about Quetzalcoatl leaving to the east are Spanish inventions/distortions, so much as some of them are
>>
>>220374000
self hating whites, next
>>
>>220374020
>those sources don't count because I said so

Provide some actual counterpoints, please.

Also, even just reading the account in >>220372433 should make this obvious. You really think Prehispanic myths and narratives talk about a specific deity being "the devil" who invented all sacrifices and tempted people into them?

Even though we know from other accounts and excavations that other gods, including Quetzalcoatl, had sacrifices done to them (EX: sacrificial victims have been excavated from Quetzalcoatl's temple at Tlatelolco)? Quetzalcoatl rejecting sacrifices there in that account is just an example of the equation between Quetzalcoatl and Jesus/Saint Thomas noted in the pic in >>220374000

Big Science has really ruined their brand with this branding. The idea that you need some oracle blessed by the priestly class to hand down knowledge and wisdom while at the same time insisting that, because you are science, your message should be unquestioningly believed.

A worthy thread, lads. I can't say we ever conclusively got to the bottom of this, nor quite tell who won these crucial arguments, so I guess we'll have to make another one and start over afresh with the debates.
>>
>>220374781
I don't think there's any implication that you need to, it's just that most people don't keep up with research and don't go out of their way to read the most recent papers on any topic. So some people take it upon themselves to relay information to the public, either out of passion for their own field or just because they found a niche to make money in.
