This movie is a fucking masterpiece. If you were disappointed in it when it came out because it wasn't as immediately funny as the previous two films, watch it again now. Seriously.
>>

Too sappy.
>>
>>220365503
I didn't like it when I watched it at the cinema back in 2013, but I rewatched it earlier this year and liked it way more. I guess I can relate more to the characters and themes now? I think a lot of people got put-off by the robots showing up all of a sudden.
>>
>>220365503
I know too many Gary Kings man, I had to shake a few of them.
>>
I already liked it when it came out
>>
OK I'll give it another go.
>>
>>220365503
It geta better every time I watch it, especially as I get older
>>
it's kino and Wright needs to stop trying to make movies alone when him and Pegg were perfect for each other
>>
Loved it but the epilogue is too cheesy
>>
>>220367024
This. I appreciate that they went all the way with the apocalypse scenario, but it was a weird way to end it

TWE > Shaun >>> Fuzz

I have watched the whole thing maybe twice. I rewatched the first half an hour many more times. Gary goes to the restroom, they find out he lied about his mother... roll credits. The first act is basically self-contained.

It's a great movie.
>>
>>220365503
The creators assumed their fans had grown with them but everyone was still avoiding life responsibilities, playing vidya and getting drunk and stoned. They were hoping for another film that indulged their lazy lifestyle instead of making them realise they've been wasting their lives
>>
>>220365503
I wouldn’t say masterpiece but it is a nice capper to Sean of the dead and Hot Fuzz. I think it just needed a bit better action the robots were a bit to zombie like for my tastes but I did like the ending even if it was to on the nose for the natural British self deprivation. I want these fuckers to do another movie together though
>>
>>220367332
Shaun of the Dead was already critical of that lifestyle
>>
>>220366747
I’m still disappointed we never got the Edgar wright Star Trek movie
>>
>>220366458
That's why this movie resonates so deep. Everyone knows a gary king. Some of us ARE Gary King which is infinitely worse

>>
>>220367332
I mean, I was like 20 when this came out.
>>
>>220367536
How is that worse? His friends were stuck in their boring soulless jobs while he was partying it up like a redpilled chad.
>>
>Twelve pints in one night
Can you imagine? What a bunch of alcoholics hahaha
>>
>>220365503
>>220367332
Pretty much this, it's a more imaginative premise so they gave it their savviest writing and a more meaningful plot. I guess the fans wanted more '80s action but it's le funny'

the age of 17 was the greatest year of my life. i've made a lot of money and "accomplished" a lot since then, but it all feels empty.

He was in rehab and cutting himself up
>>
>>220369925
It’s hard when people drift apart and you’re left with money but the friends you made are gone. Either far above you with families and shit or far below you and it’s to heartbreaking to see what they are. At least I got my family but it’s hard with them sometimes to
>>
>>220365503
all Edgar Shit movies are total fucking garbage
>>
>>220366458
On first viewing I found it harder to appreciate for this exact reason. I like it more now and can appreciate his willingness to be so unlikeable for most of the film but they really nailed that type of dickhead

He wasn’t partying it up. He was institutionalised and tried to kill himself. He begs random teenagers to let him drink with them. He acts like he’s partying it up but he’s a desperately sad man. The other guys aren’t living their best lives but Gary’s in a terrible place
>>
>>220370079
Edgar Shite was right there, man
>>
>>220370151
this. he was an absolute sad fuck. it makes it so much worse when you've seen guys like this irl sipping well drinks in some shitty bar, trying to tell the same 5 stories to anyone that'll listen.
>>
the thing is these movies are considered unfunny trash in britain
you, the american, only find them funny because of the zany accents and lingo
spaced/shaun of dead/hot fuzz/worlds end are to britain what big mama's house is to america and viced-versa
>>
>>220370201
no one cares what bongs think
>>
>>220370201
shouldn't they be more worried about muzzies having rape gangs and sharia zones in their country?
>>
>>220370201
No they aren’t. Fucking Hot Fuzz is on itv constantly
>>
>>220370201
brits hate ANY british comedian that gets a wider audience. but then they wanna go talk about how british comedy is so much more sophisticated than american comedy. but ANY show a yank has heard of automatically becomes "unfunny" to brits. such jealous sad cunts.
>>
>>220367107
You are mentally ill with that ranking. Hot Fuzz is one of the best comedies ever made and the best action film parody ever.
>>
I prefer Hot Fuzz, but it's a great movie. Really not a fan of Shaun of the Dead though.
>>
>>220370201
This is a lie

It's a movie for insufferably lame people to point out how every joke is referenced in advance, and unlike Shaun and TWE, none of the jokes are actually funny

One of the most spectacularly overrated movies ever, absolute piss
>>

The duality of man
>>
might be the best comedy trilogy ever made. each movie is completely different and speaks to an entirely different viewer sensibility
>>
>>220370522
When he intuits the negative of "yarb" is "narb" I laughed. The rest was shit.
>>
>>220370640

>>

>>
>>220365503
I was supposed to see this with a friend but he stood me up. I watch it alone in a near empty theater and it hit me like a ton of bricks
>>
>>220370640
"He had an awful house" is probably the best line for me, but otherwise yeah, movie's shit
>>
>>220370724
your friend gary king'd you
>>
>>220370739
>AWFUL HOUSE!
>>
>>220369976
I'd trade it all to go back to those days. I was in a silly metalcore band. We practiced after school 3 days a week, did a show every other weekend. My ears would ring for days. I lost my virginity that year to a beautiful girl. I should have stayed with her. She's happily married with 3 kids. I've got a successful business, but nothing else. I'd literally live in a single wide trailer if it meant being truly happy.
>>
>>220370772
Hardly in keeping with the village’s rustic aesthetic
>>
>>220370379
It lacks the emotional heart of the other two, and actually the jokes aren't as good.
