What went wrong?
>>
>>220369404
They stopped following the comic book like 3 episodes in so I stopped watching
>>
>>220369404
They lost all momentum in the show when they went to the farm in the early seasons.
>>
>>220369404
>le people are the real monsters all along
>>
Couldn’t keep em safe, simple as
>>
>>220369492
Furthermore, they did this shit to cut costs on the number 1 show on TV. Morons.
>>
>>220369404
The move to 16 episodes per season killed any sense of pacing and forced them to add a lot of pointless padding that goes nowhere, and yet somehow manages never to actually develop the characters only ever resetting them and their relationships.after a while of looking like it was going to, unless they are killed off in which case its almost always done in an unsatisfying way unless you are the current main villain for Rick.

re-watching this and it actually stands up better than first watch, a lot better. up to season 5, may drop
>>
>>220369404
they got rid of most of the original people, by the end there was only a handful left from the begining.
it was weird just disappearing Rick and not solving it within the show, instead they made a whole spin off about it. just wanted a ruinion of everyone who was still alive from the first group before it ended but they didn't do that.
I heard they're working on a new season maybe, so perhaps there's hope they can wrap it up the right way
>>
>>220369404
They abandoned the Christian End Times theme. The point of the series is to show folks what happens if they don't read The Holy Bible.

>Fire Frank after the first season
>Cut the budget in half and require double the episodes for the second
>>
>>220369404
>kill Sophie, one of the primary plot threads that lasts through the comics (Carl's and Sophie's journey together from kids to lovers over their teenage years) just straight up obliterated
The fuck were they thinking

Many such cases.

All they had to do was to tell Eugene to adapt pic rel for mixing zombies.

that's because they switched directors from a talented one to a dogshit boring romcoms for middle aged moms. AMC are a bunch of greedy jews that could've had another breaking bad but they went overly cheap with the budget despite the massive earnings for season 1, total corporate suit death.

It went wrong with season 2, I stopped watching when they spent all their time in the country side after setting up such an appealing nomad survival in the first season. I stopped watching when Season 3 suffered the same problem of being in one location. Not killing the Governer for dramatic effect was stupid and off-putting. And then when they finally branch out they start doing really lame single character story line episodes, even flash back episodes.
Alexandria was actually kind of cool but once Jesus showed them how insignificant they are it kind of loses its appeal for me. I don't care about people trying to rebuild society, they should just go full mad max mode.
Negan and Rick's dynamic got really awkward for me, Rick should have killed him a long time ago. Then I really stopped watching

andrea was like 40 or whatever instead of being 20
enid died

It went wrong with season 1
>>
turns out the retards saying "if x character dies, we stop watching" were for real and stopped watching after glenn got bashed to death
>>
>>220372344
Glenn dying was good. Negan surviving it was not, especially with whatever the fuck they are doing with him and Maggie now. I'm convinced the writers just have some weird cuck fetish

Then why has the comic sold astronomically more after the start of the show then before? Because nobody read that shit until the show. The entire basis of the first comic is a flat out ripoff of 28 Days Later. The stories and plots were poorly written. Retarded, childish dialogue. And don't get me started on the artwork that is so bland you'll regularly get characters confused because they are all drawn the same.

It peaked at the prison arc, you had a cozy mix of: basebuilding, romantic storylines, action/scavenger story lines, survival/invention storyline, siege/castle warfare, and Meryl dies.

Things got progressively worse from there, they started letting all these fat fucks take part in the show where people are supposed to be STARVING. By the time we got to the "whisperers" you could tell kirkmanstein was fresh out of ideas. The show was already not worth watching post Negan, but when Rick "dies" the show dies with it and it becomes absolute garbage.

These, then the savior war, then losing rick and the lgbt millennial gen z softer stuff didn’t help. Merle called T dog the n word in season 1 and I’m guessing that wouldn’t happen now. Also they wouldn’t Shane tell anyone something

This except literally and unironically. There is no reason Maggie and Negan should be interacting other than her killing him

>>
>>220369492
agreed, farm slowed the momentum way down, kinda chugged along then we got Negan and well I just quit bothering, heard it's jumped the shark multiple times since I quit watching over a decade ago though
>>
>>220369404
it's the bog standard "humans were the monsters all along" story.
>>
Some of those farm episodes were just like surreal in a "this is fucking really stupid" way. Entire episodes devoted to uh, feeding pigs, or lil beth gets sad and wants to kill herself. Yeah, it didnt end there for me but it started to go downhill at that fucking farm
>>
I made it until one of the mid-season breaks, when I got out of the habit of watching since it wasn't on weekly anymore, and just never started back up.
>>
>>220372595
There was something weird about her anyway as she was normally part of the production crew on other shows. How'd she suddenly end up in front of the camera, especially in a major role?
>>
>>220369492
this is true. years later after it all had ended i watched it up to that point and called quits.
>>
>>220372834
I didn't think she was a bad actress even if her character was bad. She was able to actually produce tears when she was supposed to cry instead of just scrunching up her face like most other actresses in the show.

Season 7 onward
>>
>>220369404
It's been a while but I can't really describe how disappointed I was with this series. I stopped watching it at season 7 I think. I am European and was like 12 years old when the show began and it was so good for me at the start since I love zombies. I searched every episode the old way "series name episode X Putlocker". I literally grew up with the walking dead. In hindsight it might have been mediocre much earlier than season 7 but to me it was awesome. I really can't explain the downfall. The whole random woke pozzness pushed suddenly, the random storylines no one cares about etc. They had a whole episode for one of these lesbians that no one cared about, a whole episode! I know it's a series but the disappointment I got for this kind of ruined a big part of my childhood. Thanks for reading my blog.

>we have to send someone down to pull the zombie out of the well alive because if we just shoot the zombie it's blood will poison the water that the zombie has been marinating in for weeks
>>
>>220369404
This show was decent for about 30-40 minutes.
>>
Farm for me as well, checked out soon as Darryl got shot by the blonde and was just grinning up at her like haha yeah please don't do that again.

this is some retard logic at work here, every single story that gets a tv/movie automatically gets a huge bump in sales. TWD wasn't X Men but by the time it got adapted it had very decent stable sales numbers and a fair bit of online engagement, and I say this as someone who didn't much enjoy the comics or the show.
>>
>>220372387
huh, another retard who bought into the shopped images of Maggie and Negan kissing.I agree they should have killed Negan, it would have meant a quicker death for the show instead of the zombified eternal spinoffs they have now
