What do you call this aesthetic that both Event Horizon and The Matrix had? Do NOT say Fishburnecore.
good set, before everything was cgi
They seem pretty different to me, though both are very grey. I guess 'used future' is a decent connection but Matrix is (obviously) post-apocalyptic whereas Event Horizon's interior is far more clean and well-laid out like a professional workspace.

who would win, eyeless sam neill or eyeless neo?
>>220371247In the 90s, Hollywood actually provided jobs to Americans and Europeans who built those sets. Now they just farm the set creation to some underpaid jeet from India who will use that money to buy himself more cows that'll eat garbage slop on the road outside his workplace.

>>220371166Broken future. Same technological aesthetic as Alien. There aren't touch screens covering every flat surface and everything looks like it has never been cleaned since the day it was built but somehow they cracked artificial gravity.
>>220374658dude I've done film work in nyc and the set builders have a union and like half of them are cool old polish guys from greenpoint, it's like a family trade, very hard to break in if you don't know anyone, there's no jeets working on that shit
>>220371166Technoir.
>>220376813yes anon the polish setbuilders union is "building" the shit that will be projected onto the greenscreen.
>>220376992The marvel sets were greenscreened slop but pretty much all of the prestige tv series and artsy movies had fully designed sets. Lots of shots on location too in bars/restaurants that were staged for each shot.
>>220377087... which is not relevant to the idea most "setwork" is outsourced to jeets to "build" in a computer...
>>220371166>>220371247it's like updated 70s cassette futurism, I'm not sure if there's a name. maybe y2k? there's totally an era that looks like shit right after this with like minority report before going full apple and looking terrible. this looks more advanced than alien but still has some of the stuff from alien that was common in 80s and 90s stuff
