The major Casinos Hotels pushed cheap deals and shows to get families to visit Vegas and spend money. For a while this worked. Then in the mid 2010s, Vegas decided to be greedy and raised prices again and wanted luxury customers and businessmen. Families were pushed out. Then Covid hit. The economy shut down. But Casino Hotels refuse to lower prices and thought those luxury customers would return. They didn't. Some Casino Hotels are adapting and trying to bring back families. Other Hotels are being stubborn and refusing to lower prices. Vegas had its lowest attendance in decades.

>>220373213I don't buy the "Vegas is dead" propaganda. I was just there a few weeks ago. Rooms at the Cosmo were $500+ a night and they were completely sold out. Venetian and Palazzo were $800+ with limited availability, limted rooms at other casinos. This was just a random weekend, no major events going on, and the strip was PACKED. Full casino floors and tons of people walking around. Compare this to a few years ago, and I was able to stay at Bellagio and Venetian for less than $200 a night during EDC weekend, which is insane compared to current prices. I think people are all flocking there because they think it's cheap, but it's like a delayed reaction to when Vegas was actually dying/dead a few years ago.
