They're threatened

Influencers are bigger stars among children but their audience eventually grows up

Why would it be horses? What kind of dumb unc expression is that, cap? frfr

>Absolute Horses
What?
>>
>>220373108
Nah, RDJ is based
>>
He might be right but not for the reason he thinks.
>>
I'm a normie. Job, wife, play sports on the weekends, etc. Here's my take
>I know who Neon, iamspeed, Paul Brothers, Mr. Beast and others are despite never watching any of their shit
>They're that famous and social media promotes them
>Don't know who any of the new up and coming actors are
>A few actors even tried and failed to get into social media
Actors aren't the big stars anymore. The reach of e celebs is broader.
>>
Does anybody have any oranges slices?
>>
I'm gonna start saying things are absolute horses.
>>
he's right, but it's not like the current Hollywood actors are any better.
the reality is that there are no big durable stars anymore.
>>
>>220373144
it's probably why the jews so desperately wanted to control tiktok. It's the media you're exposed to during your formative years that influences the adult you become. It's also why they're bringing in age restrictions on social media usage in the anglosphere. Kids are more likely to listen to an influencer than they are to the shitlib political activist, prattling on at the front of their classroom.
>>
>>220373108
>They're threatened
By the stupidity of zoomers.
>>
>>220373108
I remember actors and actresses. I do not think of current actors and actresses. Does that help?
>>
>>220373108
the irony is that RDJ might be a mildy succesful influencer. People will always respect a story well told.
>>
>>220373108
For Gen Z it's debatable, for Gen Alpha it's 100% true.

I hope they cash in while they can. Time is ticking...
>>
Absolute horses
>>
>Stars of the future? More like the absolute... uh, HORSES of the future!
My man's still got it.
>>
The star system still has influence, even in the streaming age. When you're flicking through the catalog on Amazon or Netflix or whichever pipe you drink your streamslop from, I bet you ignore the movies that have no recognisable names attached.
>>
>>220373178
>Neon, iamspeed

absolutely perfect examples right there.

two of the biggest streamers in history… and they are totally fucking unknown by normies.

i am eternally online and i can tell you this much about them
>neon tries to challenge NBA players
>show speed once squared up on an old white lady

meanwhile feel like Timothy chalamet is my fucking brother the amount of convo’s i’ve had to endure.

i have been asked if a famous actress who is a total and complete loser nobody is my sister because we have the same last name…
>>
>>220373108
Sure, you're accepting that filling your time with worse entertainment year after year is what you want. He comes from a bygone era where people made good things.
>>
>>220373158
Whatever happened to this Chevy's career anyway? Kidding. He's still huge and beloved.
>>
>>220373286
emphasis on the huge!
>>
They said this about myspace and the music industry and it turns out everybody with any kind of a following will abandon being independent in a second for the prestige if corporate backing. Publishing has being doing it for decades
>>
>>220373108
>these horses... they dont make a dime like we used to back in the hey day
>>

zoomers care more about vtubers then him.

Horseshoes, the typed a line instead of finishing the word
>>

>>I know who Neon, iamspeed, Paul Brothers, Mr. Beast and others are despite never watching any of their shit
those are the only few ones even normal older people have heard of. But there are thousands of YouTubers/Tiktokers/social media influencers that are literally-who to 99% of the population despite being rich and successful.
Most people could say the same about the current top young actors:
"I know who Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya and Austin Butler are despite never watching any of their shit"

Chat what did he mean by this?
>>
This will be true as long as Hollywood continues down the slop production and division of stream access route. Streamers are universally giant fucking retards but at least if they're shit I can turn it off without losing money. Most normies won't pirate so if they vote with their wallet where else do they think they will go?

>“When I hear people talk about, ‘Oh, the stars of the future are going to be influencers,’ I go, ‘I don’t know what world you’re living in, but I think that that is absolute horseshit,'” Downey said.

>“[My 14-year-old son] kinda got caught up in this whole influencer thing, and next thing you know, it’s like, ‘Hey, if you like the way I’m playing this video game, do you wanna send me a donation?’ And really, it becomes a religion,” the actor continued. “So there’s something about the influencers today that are almost like the Evangelical hucksters of the information age. At the same token, it’s different because we’re playing in this new territory and so it’s a little bit of a frontier and I don’t really have a judgment on it. I also know when I am promoting a film now I’ve gotten to know a few of these influencers, and I find many of them grounded, accomplished, cool people.”

it makes them sad because random teens on tiktok get famous with having to suck the (((director))) or (((producer))) off people just like them
>>

The typical tv show (streaming or syndicated) takes three years to produce an eight episode season where not much happens, but seems to lead to what will be the events of the next season - whenever that comes around.

The typical movie is now in a tug of war between product placement, plugging its own insisting upon itself merchandising, or really trying to force a universe or multiverse of its own that really feels unnecessary. Gotta get that crossover money. Gotta get that "greater IP franchise" money. Gotta get that "need to keep the copyright" money. CGI is jeet farmed or AI. Nearly every aspect of its production feels rushed and/or phoned in.

Today's "influencers" make content for an audience that is constantly consuming. Why wait three years for eight episodes when your favourite content creators can put out 20 shorts and three long form videos in a week?

Why wait for Hollywood marketing and PR to hype and then shit out a bastardized IP necro asswipe attempt at (((in an attempt to reach a wider audience))) full of gender and race swaps with DEI and ESG and the worst Liberal soapbox talking points - when your favourite content creator can live stream every day for eight straight hours talking about a thing that you actually care about - and more importantly - that you can talk directly to?

The relationship between performer and audience as a whole has changed into a parasocial personal relationship. Between follows, DMs, paid custom content, clips4sale, live stream comment sections, everything feels geared toward a more 1 on 1 real-time interaction that Hollywood can't replicate. That's why this is happening.

after the Palestine issue snatched their progressive intersectional stack leftists from their hands they are probably worried that both left and right will be against Israel in their own ways, and the last 100 years of conditioning will amount to nothing. Only an Anne Frank clone wife promised to every Chud can save them now.

>Neon
Who?
>iamspeed
That black guy with a pig nose who screams to the camera in thumbnails?
>Paul Brothers
Know them, mainly because of that horrific rap song and that they are some kind of boxers.
>Mr. Beast
Only know his ugly onions face from youtube thumbnails and that he's a pedophile

But then again, if I wasn't checking /tv/ most days I wouldn't know a single zoomer actor/actress face either.

None of this shitty world has any staying power lmao
Nothing of any significance is being made. Nothing beautiful is being made. This is the lifeless and dull grey world we were warned of.
>>
I still don't know shit about e-celebs so I can understand his perspective but it obviously isn't accurate. One of the reasons I browse this board is to stay in touch with what younger people are interested in and finding out what timeless classics and unc slops are to them.

>>
No "influencer" will ever have the universal recognisability that actors and musicians used to have. But no actor or musician will ever have that again either. Culture is too fractured and pigeon-holed with everyone in their own bubbles for that kind of "stardom" to ever happen again.
>>
reminder the roman treated actors like whores
>>
I'll steelman him and assume he's referring to the ocean, the tens of thousands of Twitter and Instagram and TikTok accounts with millions of followers each that somehow nobody IRL knows about. He's not talking about actual known names like Markiplier or Speed, that have a verified fanbase because they do successful things IRL. Even then, just like traditional celebrities, most fall off and some can continue on staying famous for many years.
>>
>>220373108
He's right though.

The success of Iron Lung disagrees
>>
>>220374119
But most actors still continue on for years, while TikTokers maybe get a few months at most before being eclipsed by the next trend.
>>
>>220373178
Is Neon still famous? He was everywhere for a while, then nowhere. Even the Paul brothers have really disappeared despite being so massive for quite a while.

Robert Retard Jr got lucky he landed the Iron Man role. He was a literal nobody before that film.

Two best friends and game grumps are able to live in relative comfort and fame with their small and dedicated following. Even woolie and alannah Pearce are able to live well because of their fans. Its great that power has been given to fans and bypassed hollywood.
>>
>>220375314
How dare you?! I remember it was a big deal when he guest starred in ally mcbeal.
>>
>>220375594
He was also in Weird Science, Less Than Zero, Back to School, Chaplin, Natural Born Killers etc so he wasn't a nobody by any stretch of the word. I think it's actually sadder that all his work in the last 20 years is just Marvel slop and flops like Dolittle.
>>
>>220373108
Horse bros... I don't feel so good...
