Why are societies of Vampires, Wizards, Werewolves, etc... That are superior to humans in every way possible but are somehow always hiding from the human world instead of ruling it?

People who rule put a target on their back. Everyone knows who they are. If things aren't going along swimmingly they get the blame. Its easier and safer to enjoy life from the darkness. for vampires and werewolves their collective numbers are always way less than humans and they also have major weaknesses and are extremely vulnerable at times. it also makes sense since they want to keep the advantage of being obscure so humans don't have a reason to band together. for wizards you can make the argument that they don't want plebs to know about it. do you like the fact that normies and reddit know about 4chan and all our dank memes? no, you don't like it. you wish 4chan was still an obscure place that only the true autismos knew about.
