But by moving from her father's death to her training or grooming or whatever you call it, you bypass how her mother gave her a Raiden contacting necklace, even before her father's death, that became important to her up to her adultood, it allowed her to contact Raiden and become his ears and eyes and that alone tells you Khan's influence never really got to her. It was even a concern she would not be able to use it again when Raiden was dying. There's also ther hair cloth she retrieved from her dead father that she used during the final fight. Her having talked to Raiden even a little bit would have been a given and there is also how Kitana doesn't treat Jade as a bodyuard but a sister. It's true Darkseid, I mean Khan, was too powerful at the time for her to try much against him until the new tournament happened and by then she had become a fully trained adult with like 4 different weapons and a hell of a grudge.
