Why do movies all feel fake now?
>>220390757Movies ARE fake anon
>>220390792Mobis are real
>>220390792Yeah but why do they feel like I'm watching people act now
>>220390757its because of the color grading, and the anti-film movement of corporations using AI to create perfect product for mass consumption. Also notice how no one sweats in cinema anymore.
>>220390757Because they aren't interacting with a real environment anymore. They're standing in a giant green room talking to a tennis ball on a stick. It's impossible to act naturally when you're just pretending a giant CGI monster is standing in front of you.
>>220390829because you grew up
>>220390891But old movies still look good
>>220390885Reflects poorly on the actors then, their entire job is to make us believe they're someone they're not in a situation they're not really in. Could it possibly be that actors just aren't of the same caliber anymore?
we've made too many of them so now they have to be synthetic
>>220390857yep, it's the muted colors and the lack of traditional studio lights
If you are unable to enjoy literally any fiction that's just depression.
I didn't read the thread but last night I watched The Thing and what really stuck out to me in that film compared to films made for modern audiences is that no one in Hollywood can act and no one in Hollywood can write now. The characters and acting in The Thing really sucked me into the films universe. That's never happened to me in a modern audience film. Just thought you'd like to know. Thanks for asking.
>>220390891False
>>220390757Everything has to feel like a commercial because the modern normie is unable to imagine or fill in the blanks and needs everything explained to them. A benefit of removing pattern recognition from schools. Don't believe me? Go work customer service for an hour and you'll see. Everyone either suffers from brain fog or mental retardation and is incapable of understanding basic tasks without being guided through it completely.

>>220390757CGI. They are pushing the digital era really strong. Like, everything digital. At one point they will try to turn you into some kind of digital human being. It's crazy. We are very far from the analog technology which is the very one technology that makes movies feel real and organic. Take the movie Escape from New York. The first one holds so fucking well even to this day because it was practical effects, everything was analog. But then take the sequence dumped at 1996 if I'm not mistaken. It is shit because the CGI was dated as soon as the movie was released. Even the company which did the CGI closed after it. So this will only become more prominent, this problem, because everything is CGI nowaways, AI. Your brain picks it up. We live in the real world where the world is not digital. The world is analog. We are analog beings. So digital will always look unnatural to us. Your brain picks it up and it manifests this as the uncanny valley effect.

>>220391541>people writing movies now not drawing from real experiences but from other moviesThis is a big one for me. Movies used to be inspired by real experiences, by classic art, literature, etc. Now it's just faggots forever wanking the same five or six 70s/80s franchises til the end of time.
>>220391888unfathomably based tripsMine is Spiderman
>>220391456Not being able to enjoy even good things is one of the major symptoms of clinical depression.
>>220390829Because actors now aren't real people. They're rich kids who never dealt with real problems. Actors used to have lived their lives before starting. Charles Bronson grew up in rags, and boxed to eat, so that shows up in his performances. he was hardened by the world, so it was believable when he played character like Kersey.Nowadays, most actors are just fucking rich kids whose parents bought them careers. And if they weren't, they just fuck people for roles. There's zero reason Jennifer Lawrence has an oscar when her best acting was when didn't through up for letting a hideous kike pig turn her face into a jackson pollock painting.

You’ve just become your parents generation that bitched about how all the music, movies etc. that you liked was better when they were young. Congrats on becoming just as whiny of a bore.
>>220394598I basically accepted it as a technological and cultural change. 1950s and 1970s movies were also very different looking, but I enjoyed tons of movies from both decades. >>220394598>Interesting, isn't it a good thing that movies managed to be more immersive in the past though? How is that op's fault? They don't have to be physically immersive to be immersive. >>220394815>You mean anemoiaYeah, my bad. In general I prefer the way colors were used by the old masters, it felt like they alone could do characterization as well as good dialogue. >HATES Yeah, hate is too strong of a word. What if they just dislike it or are not interested in it?

>>220394874>it felt like they alone could do characterization as well as good dialogue.I don't think there's a lot to that. Most older film has mediocre writing. >>220390757I think lack of stationary cameras are a big part of it. Previously scenes were shot like as if a window looking into another world. Now the camera jumps around and around, zooming in and out and shaking to and fro to “immerse you in the action!” but it rarely has that effect.
