Unlike the man he's supposed to be a pastiche of, Homelander has actually suffered greatly and is completely justified in all his actions.Fundamentally, he is just lashing out at the people who literally tortured him during his childhood and their direct and indirect enablers. And he cannot be held accountable for any collateral damage he causes during all this because he is quite literally mentally ill, borderline schizophrenic, as a direct result of said abuse and mistreatment. The good guys use very similar excuses so maybe I don't have enough media literacy to figure out what exactly differentiates Homelander from the rest of them. And I'm not even just talking about the boys themselves here, there are tons of weird and despicable characters who get to blame external parties and societal pressures for being jackasses, even though none of them had it as bad as Homelander.
>>220392597I like how he’s essentially a force of nature When you think about it
>>220392597Having a reason for being the way you are is not an excuse for atrocities Sure hes a loon now and society dictates he should be treated if possible, but that is within reasonable limits, crazies that pose a threat to others safety frequently get treated the one way they can, with a bullet.
>>220392756Unless you're A-Train.
>>220392773Atrain is the equivalent of a drunk driver, detestable but not really comparable with a man who is a psychotic serial killer.
>>220392597In the comic Homelander is not any worse than any of the other heroes. In the show they try to have their cake and eat it too by showing Homelander is both a victim of his childhood and an unfathomably evil Drumpf figure. There's a lot of villains with bad backstories out there but if you're going to make a political strawman I feel you have to pick one or the other.
>>220392789It's worse, because he knew what he was doing. He chose to be that way, did some horrible shit, and then he gets a redemption arc because he's a jogger.
>>220392808Libsharts trip over themseles trying to pretend all villains are tragic while also believing anyone who types nigga on twitter should die
>>220392808In the comics Homelander was probably better than a lot of the other heroes before Black Noir gaslit him into the worst excesses.
>>220392820No, manslaughter is by definition not as bad as murder and as crazy as homelander is he fully understands he is killing the people and what that means His delusions aren't impairing his ability to comprehend his actions and their consequences, he just don't care because he considers himself above them.
>>220392834He was. He was actually a good guy before that.
>>220392597Too bad the directors are inbreed rats who felt threatened by Homelander because uhhh he is blond and has blue eyes HE IS TRUMP
>>220392597>he is just lashing out at the people who literally tortured him during his childhood and their direct and indirect enablersMost of them are dead or ousted and he still acts the same way
>>220392858Okay, anon. You just wanna orange man bad and give Gibstrain a pass because of the colour of his skin.
>>220392597his S1 costume and hairstyle were kino. why did they change that shit?
>>220393077And you want to assure everyone orange man can do no wrong regardless and is sacrosanctAtrains pass was death
>>220392597dont care. kill him
>>220392597GOD I want to feel Homelander inside me
>>220392597>Unlike the man he's supposed to be a pastiche of, ... Superman?
>>220393155>Muh drumpft
>>220392597He absolutely can be held accountable for the damage he causes because he is sane enough to know the difference between right and wrong. He just believes the rules do not apply to him because of his narcissistic delusions, and delusions are not a pass. Remember when the crowd cheered him for lasering that guy? It was because he knew they should not endorse murder. He is not a just or sympathetic or excusable character in any way.
>>220392597>schizophrenic>direct result of said abuse and mistreatment.
>>220392597>Fundamentally, he is just lashing out at the people who literally tortured him during his childhood and their direct and indirect enablers. And he cannot be held accountable for any collateral damage he causes during all this because he is quite literally mentally ill, borderline schizophrenic, as a direct result of said abuse and mistreatment. And how does this compare to Homelander?
>>220392892Not really, but he wasn't more than a douchebag.
all the people he killed werent me, so i dont see why it matters
>>220392858If you allowed a psychopath to be a mas murderer you're just as bad. And he for sure "accidentally" killed other people.
>>220393197You and me both brother
>>220392597the "good guys" kill innocent people too
>>220392597>it's ok to be a psycho killer of innocent people if I think he's politically aligned with me or some shit. DOESN'T apply to the other team (there are only two teams), if they're crazy murderers they should be killed.Americans be like. I didn't watch this show after season 1 though.
>>220392597>Unlike the man he's supposed to be a pastiche ofUltraman? Hyperion?
>>220392597He is a tit milk mommy freak, and two wrongs do not make a right. Morallity is about being above whatabout-isms. Get it? Dipshit?
>>220392597If you’re white and privileged you’re not allowed to be unhappy or complain of mistreatment
