any time I get wind of and begin using a pirate streaming site of any kind, it gets shut down within a few months tops. I went years without pirating stuff when streaming was actually "alright", and countless people told me it was so easy to pirate shit.
So I got back into it now that streaming fucking SUUUCKS, and like clockwork, a few months later, the shit I use goes down along with any alternatives I had known about.

RARBG going down is the biggest hit we have had to take in torrenting.
Even TBP getting fucked in the 00s wasn't as bad. And that is only because RARBG curated their torrents.
>>
>>220401666
There's a new public tracker now that is curating torrents as well, hope they keep an up to date backup for when the inevitable comes.

only one? I have a half dozen in my fav bar that are currently still working, or do you mean something different by curating than just making sure the most interesting files are put on the front page?
>>
>>220398689
Go to imdb. Search for the movie you want. Most recent one I tried was Mad God, since there is currently a thread about it and I ain't seent it. Edit the URL: type "play" before imdb. Evade the popups, and then you can watch your kinos. So far it has worked for every flock I tried, but no TV shows.
>>
>>220401692
>>220401713
I dont think you understand what i mean when i said curating.
YTS curates torrents but RARBG had all sized uploads of rips of everthing, movies, music and vidya and it was all top quality.
YTS just uses its/his own scene rules and uploads his own shit.
Its why RARBG dump lists are still passed around as we dont have anything on that level of curation on torrents.
generally torrent sites follow the same rules that were established by DESU in the early 00s users upload whatever, people vote on them, scene nukes old torrents, good uploaders get buffed trusted reps etc. Though shit and cancer still gets uploaded and retards still download it.
Again RARBG did it all themselves.

I just use an aggregate now and it mainly picks from YTS, DESU and rustracker, but the aggregate has the info for verified torrents and I mainly only download YTS 1080 BRs anyway, smallish size.
>>
>>220401713
>or do you mean something different by curating than just making sure the most interesting files are put on the front page?
They do that just like those other famous ones and a bit of quality control plus decent filtering for searching, still doesn't hold a candle the general private trackers.

>private trackers.
You have to be a cock gargling faggot to every use a private tracker.
it defeats the fucking purpose.
Pirating is supposed to help everyone, share the torrent with many so that the data is in the metaphysical ether so that it can always be found.
being a bunch of faggots in your supew sekret club, sucking yourselves off and ruining the established rules of the warez scene just fucking ruins the whole point.
Of course, you are all a bunch of retarded faggots you would not even understand that.
Simple fact is, if you are gonna dump your bluray of backdoor sluts 9 onto the net its best to dump it so as many people who wants it can get it so the data is out in the open for all, rather than a small group of faggots who share the data only among themseleves.

I have like 100ish 4k's and 15 blu rays.
im pretty satisfied with my current collection. but im looking to add 100 movies and about 7 TV shows to my collection.
at a certain point collecting films does become redundant. like you only have so much time to watch films.
but i have some weak spots in my collection. family films, holiday, older classic films, drama, and comedy.
my collection is 80% action, sci fi or fantasy, which is great because those are the best kind of films. but i could definitely expand my tastes in a couple other genres to own.

most libraries will have a request form somewhere at the media section front desk, you just sign that with your request and depending on budget availability and buying schedule you'll get it eventually. I'm lucky in that my local library is in a medium sized town with very little hobos stinking up the place or kids clogging the requests so I get most of what I ask for pretty quick, probably helps that I'm on good terms with the media librarian as well (also a fan of stuff I like so she's happy to buy it). I highly recommend it, libraries are based and often forgotten about when people are looking for obscure media. Also a good place to get audiobooks you can't find on audiobookbay, although to be honest my librarian just gives me the files direct instead of making me queue for the Audible sub (lotta old people love the fuck out of Audible so big demand there). Our library even has a video games rental space but unfortunately it's all previous gen console stuff (still good for whatever kids are too poor to get their own stuff).

Yeah my PTP pal is cool as fuck, only person I enjoy talking to at my job, which is otherwise unfulfilling but low stress. I didn't know having rare uploads is valuble though, I thought private trackers was all about ratio. He's explained it to me multiple times but I'm not that smart or attentive so I tend to zone out when he does lol...

>>220402465
it was hosted in the netherlands apparently, you'd think a country with that name would welcome porn.
No idea what will happen now, motherless was pretty popular so I don't see why they wouldn't just migrate somewhere else if it's possible. A sad day, they didn't do the ID check thing so it was one of the few places I could go without turning on a VPN.
>>
>>220403309
Ratio is far less important than uploads, the problem is the main gateway to PTP has traditionally been the hardcore music tracker Redacted, which is difficult to do well on without music uploads. But there are other gateways now, they just take longer because of the account age requirement. But if you don't have a media server and your coworker can get stuff from it I wouldn't bother so much.
I've used my library for music uploads a few times, but I didn't know you could request stuff. Will have to try that.
>Audiobooks
There is a pretty good private tracker for those, myanonamouse. Many audible rips there. You can get in with their irc interview, which is easy unlike the redacted interview. They just want to make sure you can use the site and have some basic competency with torrents. After that if you post in the new user thread they'll shower you with upload credit and freeleech tokens and audiobooks become fairly easy to download as long as you can leave them seeding in your client.

The music tracker stuff wouldn't be too hard for me if I rip library stuff for uploads, this is good to know. I've been thinking about getting a media server for a long time now, it seems like overkill for my use but I think it would be a fun project to play with eventually.
>myanonamouse
I'll keep that in mind, ty anon. Audiobooks are pretty easy to find most of the time although some get struck down for some reason occasionally, like I was listening to Dungeon Crawler Carl on my commute last year and the good version of Book 4 uploads were all removed from audiobookbay for some reason, only the inferior version is left.

What has me reluctant to get on some trackers is their asking for ID, no idea if it's a regular thing but the one time I looked into a tracker (can't remember which, something specialized in anime iirc) around 2016 it made me back off the idea immediately. I'd need to pay for a seedbox as well though as my internet speed is shit (live in a low service area, we don't even have fiber yet).

I'm going to check out the /ptg/ threads from now on, been a while since I've even been on /g/

No tracker I know of has ever asked for ID kek. Do you mean IP?

The most important information is in the OP of those threads, but after going through that if you have questions you can ask in the thread and some kind anon should answer eventually.

I taught in public school for several years. I tried to mentor some of the fucked up, fatherless young men I ran across and this comic always gives me flashbacks. The solution is to totally forgo gentleness and let them know how much disgust and contempt their helplessness inspires, but if they have the ability to distance themselves from you for it they will. They write you off as a big meanie and go look for someone else willing to coddle them and preserve their pussy behavior. For the medicine to work you need to be a permeant fixture in their lives, preferably from a very young age, one they can't just walk away from. They have to deal with the fact that you love them and want the best, but aren't always going to give them the baby bottle bullshit they want. You have to be a dad, literally. My six year old son is more resilient that most of the busted tards I stayed in touch with, now well into their 20s.
>>
>>220403919
Nah they asked for ID, as in a scan of my ID. I had the tracker recommended to me by some guy I met at a party in college at the time. Good to know that's not a real thing trackers do, it was probably just a scam or uncommon thing then.

What are neons? Like neonate?
The threads sound like /wpsg/ lol, people interested in personal drama more than what is happening in game.

It's from DMCA or NTD, and it doesn't happen on private trackers (with a handful of exceptions that are all available elsewhere) because copyright trolls don't know or care enough that it's there.

Very few American ISPs actually enforce this, they just forward you the cease and desist they got from whatever law firm sent it to them. In many cases there is no way to prove it was you who personally did the torrenting without an expensive lawsuit, so you can safely disregard the letter. I think if you really rack up too many of them your ISP might complain, but I'm not sure as it's never happened to me. Many American ISPs still do not give a fuck what you use them for.
What you're taking about, where the ISP actually does DPI to look for torrent traffic, I am not aware of being used in the US. I think it's only used at scale in Russia and China. In any case, there are tools like GoodbyeDPI to get around this as well.

Mentoring kids is hard, by the time they get to you they have all kinds of self-defeatist beliefs and a lifetime of compounding failures to back that up. I had to do it for two years in college for extra credits and I hated it, the college was next to a low income ghetto and the kids had barely ever been in school, I only got one kid out of the four I got those two years to take it seriously and pass his baccalaureate (equivalent of A-levels or SATs, although I've heard SATs are just for college and aren't needed to graduate high school). The one mentor I knew who got excellent results made it very clear to the kids that this was just a job for him and he didn't give a fuck if they made it or not, he'd drop them instantly and prioritize other kids if they didn't make an effort, no insults, no disappointment, would give them only a quick one minute talk every session and move on to kids that cared. The ignored kids would either quit and never come back or try and prove themselves to him over the semester and show marked improvement.

Few years after that I took on a gig as an aid to a guy who coached long time NEETs to get back into a job or training, most were very motivated and worked hard. But this one young lad had the exact same problem but way more intense, like every word out of his mouth would be self-pitying or self-condemning, over 4 months we never managed to get anything different out of him, I still think about it.

>>220404612
That's what I mean, I could avoid using a VPN so it made it easier. I know a VPN can side-step most ID checks but it brings my speed down and the video has to buffer sometimes which is annoying. On top of that if you don't use a paid VPN a lot of the websites already blacklist the free ones and TOR, the sites you listed are all accessible with a free VPN set in Russia or Singapore or whatever but a few I used to use and bigger sites like Pornhub are inaccessible with the free versions (that I know of, I haven't given it more than minimal effort or research).
I already do go on the x websites and others, but motherless had way more and curated playlists that aren't just the same vids over and over in every playlist. I'm old and went through a very lonely period in my 20s where I would wank for an hour or two a day, so the most popular videos are unfortunately ingrained in my memory forever and no longer provide a porn high. Luckily I don't watch porn much anymore but when I did I mostly used motherless because of all these factors.

I only watch porn as a last resort. Its a tool I use for release, not watch it for entertainment.
Still Tor is fine. Its no issue with speed and I have only ever once had it have an issue with connecting to a site which then i just have to swap where the tor is routing to.
Its just as simple as opening a browser, tor then i have some bookmarks, reject cookies, search, find and wank. Close browser, job done.

I learned it from /v/ but its legit from PSN website, apparently starting next moth PSN for UK users, you need to doxx yourself to prove who you are so you can communicate online. Without it you wont be able to send messages or speak online. Or even in game text though but i doubt they will be able to monitor that.
games like ESO online or street fighter 6 for example have in game text chat.

Thing is, I have been buying 18+ games. So to me this should start a precedent that if I dont doxx myself they cant prove I am over 18, so I should be able to get refunds for my 18+ games.
PSN already has shit like my bank card, name etc so that should be enough but they want you to send actual ID. I am not doing that.

I prefer to play on console but I am an idort I play on PC.
Thing is they might force steam to do the same shit at some point.

Lol do people on /v/ still use this word, haven't seen anyone type that in a long time. Loved my ps4 but when it died after ten years of loyal service I didn't feel a need to replace it or get the next gen since most of my games are playable on PC as well. Only thing I regret is that one gamer group I was in full of nice UK lads that were always up for a game of BF or DeepRockGalactic, but then again they had been moving on to ps5 games as well. Oh and obviously missing out on the few exclusives Sony still has and apparently are not planning on bringing to PC anymore.

Like Idk, giving everyone free access to parental controls via their ISP....

ik governments were generally boomers (I mean that as the literal term, not internet meme) who dont have a clue how tech works but time has gone on people should know about parental blocks on the internet or TV services. Meaning there is a blatant instead of doing the simple X, parental software etc, they are doing Y, truing to cyber police the entire internet...for a reason. They are trying to do the harder thing in an attempt to use it as a guise for surveillance. With extortion from other websites as a cherry on top.

I noped out of everything that requires ID but if we're being real just by having a google account logged into my phone and sometimes browser (when I forget) they still know exactly who I am and what I do. I normally keep separate accounts for all my activities like you but I'm lazy and forgetful so it's not as effective as I'd like. Being completely off of socials makes you a freak in certain jobs though, it cost me quite a bit in my first internship because I refused to make a realname fb account to shill our company online. I think this latest push this past decade is the worst it's been though because it's getting the general population to accept it as a normal part of your life and the younger gens won't even question it once it's been in place for a while, just like people at work are OK with our company monitoring internal chat (somehow this is legal but monitoring emails isn't) but are still stupid enough to voice their complaints on there.

I'm not informed on the legal side of it at all but I wouldn't be surprised if your digital activities can be used as evidence of your character in a trial, it fucking sucks man and you talk to people about it they don't see what the big deal is.

What's even worse is they are actively trying to provoke people by implementing vague "terms of service" which gives them the power to target certain lines of thinking. Reddit is a perfect example of it's implementation. There rules are set that "you cannot marginalize minority groups based on yadda yadda" but no matter what they will fill your curated page with rage bait.

Theyre essentially setting up USSR tier social structures where people will be too afraid to say anything that isn't status quo because nobody can quite figure out what is and isn't "marginalizing" whatever the fuck

I am the same but like I said I am not all tinfoil hat about it.
In my youth I was, completely anti establishment.
I shitpost and voice my opinions on the internet without recourse bit my opinions are not so extreme and I am not a deviant.
Sure I hate negroids and jews as much as any sane person bit other than that, what normies would perceive as bad...anything else I do on the internet or my IRL opinions are not to extreme.
Like I dont watch any degenerate pron either. Basically I mean I have nothing to hide at all anyway.
Though i vehemently believe in internet anonymity, that we should be able to express ourselves in any way on the internet without being vindicated and without having to doxx ourselves and be attributed to our inner musings.
The internet is like a smorgasbord of peoples inner minds rambling. That is including shit here to retards on social media. It has been like this since the Internets infancy and I think it should be like that forever.
Its like shitposting is a form of therapeutic freedom of expression.
Even if nobody cares what you have to say, shitposting itself can be beneficial.
This doxxing crap is trying to contain that so everyone acts and behaves in a certain manor, nobody has wrong think etc.

Shit, most clearnet sites are already propaganda and ban anyone who is a deviant to their ideologies (reddit, facebook, youtube etc)
It is as if their intention is to try and contain every facet of the internet to mould it into some fictional make believe world created in their own image and I am 100% against that.

Faster, no buffering, no worrying about dead links, can fiddle with the subs, can lend out to friends and family who aren't internet savvy. In the end it's just a matter of preference, when I'm looking to watch a one-off episode of a show I already know I don't download the whole catalog I just watch it on some streaming site, but for on-going shows and any movie I'll torrent. With cheap big capacity storage now I usually also stock up on movies and TV seasons I'd like to watch at some point so it serves as a reminder as well, I dunno if you can make playlists like that on illegal streaming sites.
>>
>>220405987
>People were claiming it's a DCP
It's a really shitty rip of an actual DCP most likely.
Russian theaters no longer get movies cause of sanctions so they buy DCP rips or the DCP with the decryption key itself(more unlikely) from theaters in neighboring countries.
Someone probably had access to one of those rips being shown in a theater that had subs already hardcoded in and made a shittier encode of it instead of uploading a 200gb file.
>>
>>220406345
Yes. I tried to maintain a neutral account by only visiting subs that had to do with my car, ice hockey, or modding fallout. I especially liked answering people's questions about modding because starting out and maintain stability after updates is difficult. Inevitably subs that were about answering questions came up, which mostly comprised of political rage bait questions.

I didn't even say anything egregious either, something like "group x stinks" and that got me auto banned by a bot and of course my appeals went no where despite having positive karma
>>
>>220406392
The Internet remaining a space of truly free discussion died as soon as it leaked into real world consequences and then was buried once corps took over most of it for their profit. Even twenty years back there was already talk of the dangers of anonymity and need for govt control, nothing close to today but it was already over.
>>
>>220406392
>within a few days, without fail I am banned from reddit.
This is consistent too. N matter what I say, I get banned from that site somehow.
Because like I mentioned, I express my views hnestly and they are against their narrative propaganda so they ban me.
And I dont mean like I am going on a sub about a vidya and then making random posts about hating faggots or whatever.. I mean some conversation will come up about whatever, I will express my views, relative to the discussion...banned.

Now in reality I wont be alive for much longer, 10 years max so no need to concern myself with it but i already envision that at some point I, we...will most likely have to move onto the darknet.
I think 4chan they let it live as a simple containment and I bet they make mods give everything to the USA government and they have all the data recorded on our IPs and shit we all say.
This place actually has a use for them as surveillance. Think of the times when people have dumped dead body coordinates, or info dumps and things like that. They use this place as a tool.
It is like a containment that they can control.
>>
>>220406472
ah fuck you're right, I do get Ask subs in my feed all the time but never click them since I don't see the point and most of the top posts will be people saying the same shit or traumaposting (which is fine but I'm not going on reddit to feel sad). The bot bans are the worst, that and needing a certain amount of karma in specific subjects before you can post in the real meat of the sub. A lot of reddit is retarded but some of the stuff discussed I haven't found another space for that is still active, they kinda replaced dead forums.

Internet died with the normie invasion, Combination of social media, specifically facebook and the phablet phones, of course being a mod con readily available that everyone has, its ruined and like anything more people on the internet means more shilling and advertising, more sales, more money and it just degenerated exponentially
The old internet we grew up with which was populated by nerds and youths is gone never to return.
Though the irony of it all is that the zoomers, growing up with the internet are so inept and they dont even carve out a corner of their own, not fighting against the systems of control. You would have expected some sort of burst of passion based around the internet but instead they just sucked up the normie tier shit like fakebook and instagram and become a fucking sheep.

Combination of all.
Health is declining with age, incurable illnesses that make life more difficult and game makes life worse to live, no desires etc.
Vidya is the only thing that keeps me going.
At an exponential decline, i estimate about 10 or so years before life is so bleak and the experience is so poor quality an hero would be the better option.

I am not being all depressed about it either, its part of the ageing process anyway just when you also have poor health and poor quality life it comes sooner.
Nobody lives forever anyway and I think it is best to go out on ones own terms than idk having a random heart attack while doing some mundane activity.

I wont an hero until it gets very bleak.

>The touth will look at smartphones and social media as "shit my grandpa did"
Social media, defo, not sure about phones.
It depends on what new inventions could be created by then. Phones are a communication tool and we as asocial mammals will always crave communication in our youth as it is based around sex really. The internet is a kind of extension of that, well the way it is used like social media etc.
Zoomers chasing after epeen and internet likes as an example.

You can already see with that brairot and low attention span shit that future communication substitutes for social media would end up being just like a grand melting pot of shit, like discord has become, rather than semi organized databases of people like most social media is.
I mean that as zoomers and subsequent gens attention spans will be so low that they dont engage with people on the internet just content by people and everyone will be vying to try and stand out for ego inflation.
Ironically kind of what i see from the tiktok shit that gets spammed here.
Like girls went from singing to songs, doing funny faces, dancing and lip syncing to getting their tits out and dancing, then getting their cunt out all in an attempt to be noticed....

>>220406684
no idea bud, I think it's more like they can't use you just being on the streaming website as evidence of illegal activity on your part whereas being active on whatever torrent shows you had a direct part in obtaining an illegal copy of their property. In my country (according to govt communication) the legal rights holders put out or surveil certain torrents, track your IP to it and then ask the body governing this kind of shit to push your ISP to confirm it, then you get a letter in the mail about it, I've never heard of that happening with streaming.
>>

>is torrenting technically illegal
>but streaming is technically not illegal?
Torrenting is not illegal, if you mean the act itself. It is just sending small packets of data, It is what you are torrenting or sharing that infringes copywrite that is illegal.
It would be the same with streaming.
Though I dont know the legality of using the date, It is always more the sharng of data that is prevented and legally punished.
Its ironically why you should never seed a torrent or at least not for too long.
I mean if I had a 10GB upload and was sharing 10GBs of movies per second they are gonna want to shut my shit down.
If I downloaded a 10GB movie once a week, they aren't gonna be too fussed as I am a small fish not making a big wave, not costing them potential money.

There's a certain segment of the youth population that has grown up hearing constantly about the problems constant connection can cause at school, at home, in the news etc and has taken that to heart. They're kinda like 90s vegan kids in a way and provide an opposite alternative to the wannabe influencers that make up a lot of their generation. I would say TikTok and the like are just our generations boogeyman like videogames were in the 90s but I've seen how addictive it is so I won't.

Why do people act like streaming and downloading are mutually exclusive? For stuff I don't intend to keep it's easier to just stream.

I completely get that, my aunt who was like a second mother to me is in quickly declining health and has been having similar thoughts lately, it's hard to hear but I can't think of anything to say to convince her otherwise. Cancer runs in the family though so I know that's probably going to get me too at some point, we really got unlucky gene-wise what with schizophrenia and chronic depression also being very present in the family tree. What sucks though is she is gradually drawing back from social life, keeping to herself more and more which will further convince her that life is not worth living. It sucks, just when I had started to get her into computer stuff too. A few years ago I dated this girl who had one of those super rare diseases with no active research on a cure or treatment, she was fine most of the time but would sometimes come down with mind-splitting migraines that would last days, days of pure pain and her skin would become so sensitive she couldn't wear clothes or it would hurt her. Horrible shit and she said she got through it because she knew there was always the an hero option available if it got too bad, that thought let her stay in control and not be overwhelmed by the constant pain and the consequences on her social and professional life.

Thanks for talking about it anon, this is a good thread. Sorry for the blogpost, this kind of shit is something I've been thinking about a fair bit this year.

All the spam, same shit over and over its stuff they picked up from elsewhere.
Pointing that they are constantly on the internet.
One thing i think they are abandoning is facebook though, which is good.

yeah you're probably right, I work in a small town known for it's circassian arts and jazz festival so a lot of the families here are half hippy and I haven't worked or lived in a big urban area in a decade.

Facebook has been the domain of boomers and advertisers for a while now, but the young people I know with smartphones still use it for Messenger, dunno why but they do. Old people mainly use it for the Marketplace from what I've seen.
>>

It doesnt need to be such a big deal though anon.
Death comes to us all and can come at any second, so as long as you are not doing it on a whim because some recent misfortune, but are doing it because you are ready to leave now, there is no harm in ending your life.
no need to make a grandstand of it either. Just sort your obligations out and go.
The main issue there is if you have dependants If you have children for example, you ave a duty, obligation, so you have to soldier on for them.
If like me, you dint intend to have children (I have an anti natal outlook to life now) then you wont have any real issues with leaving whenever you feel fit.

I don't really stream but I do use that one streaming website that has all the classic sitcoms from the 90s-10s period on 24/7 rerun. I leave it on my TV while I'm home and will sit down to watch if it's an episode I like or haven't seen.

That is the weirdest thing to use it for.
Doesnt shit like whatsapp do the same thing, Which is owned by facebook anyway I think.

Funny too because facebook killed email and aim like MSN.
Nobody I know sends emails any more and MSN or other aim things all dies after facebook.

Like you or the other anon said about normies expecting you to have social media.
I found out recently that most rental places are advertised via fagbook now.
i say most, I mean private landlords directly. Nearly anywhere else is done via estate agents.
I am mentioning this as I have had to be looking for a property after 12 years of not needing a new one only to find things have changed drastically and fagbook is a kind of port of call for renting.
Which makes sense seeing they have areal name policy.

Still I refuse to use that shit and refuse to doxx myself on the internet.

I've found that kids are so used to being bullshitted with candy-ass platitudes by adults that frankness goes a long way. I would posture as less caring than I actually was to match step with their cynicism. They know the education system is bullshit, their teachers are retarded, none of them want to be there, and if you level with them about all that it's a good starting point for making them more receptive to advice and example.

Well she's all set on that front, 80 years old, kids are long grown and grandchildren have started working (although one is a mental facility, but hey that's one out of six!), her sons' houses have been paid for with her help and she finally kicked her deadbeat husband out a decade ago. I guess I just haven't made my peace with that yet, she's been around my whole life and always been old so it made it seem like she would last forever.
I'm going to start hunting with my older cousin next year because he said that helped him be more comfortable with the concept of death, which is something that as a society we have lately taboo-ed and are less exposed to outside of disease and old age. I agree with what you say but my mind hasn't caught up with that yet.

>I was always told that sharing something or saving something makes it illegal
Whoever told you that is a retard.

If I took a picture of my cock and emailed it to you, thats not gonna be illegal is it. that image will be in an attachment and you download it directly.
All torrents do is split that data into small packets (no pun intended) so that instead of downloading an image of MY COCK you will download individual packets in any order like YCKOCM and when you finally get the last packet, it will turn into an image of MY COCK.

It was created so that we can download large files over extended time and if we had breaks in the internet connetcion from Peer to peer...then we dont lose the data.
It is just a simple file sharing service. Bittorrenting.
It is the sharing of illegal things that is the problem. In movies case, copywrited movies. The method of sharing it doesnt even matter. I could email you a copy of backdoor sluts 9 and its illegal.

Streaming, the legality of it I assume is simply that only the host is doing something illegal because unlike lock torrenting where you are actively getting the data yourself for the movie, streaming the data, you are not making a copy of it yourself like you would if you torrented.
I mean in a technical term.
It is illegal to own a copy of copywrited material but its not illegal to see, or hear copywrited material.

nah I didn't even know what that was until this post, seems cool but I have to turn a VPN on for it to be in English since it's not a native language to where I live, I hate dubs. Mild inconvenience but still.
The website I use is stream4free, there used to be a seinfeld website that would run every single episode in order continuously but it got shut down sometime in the last five years. Very limited in what you get but since I only leave it on in the background I don't care, might switch over to Pluto though if I see it has stuff I like and the VPN switch can be automated with that Tampermonkey thing that lets you write new automated behaviour for your browser (if I remember what it is called)

pluto and Tubi are like Netflix but they are free and they have "streaming " channels where they play shows like Baywatch 24/7. it sounded like what you were describing.
they are useful to have in the background on your tv. it just plays them all day.
>>
>>220407241
yeah that's what I got out of it as well, so much of what they are told on a daily basis is bullshit and lies that a bit of harsh honesty can be a welcome shock. I'd have liked to have someone tell me that kind of shit early on, I spent too much of my junior high years trying for high grades and extracurriculars in an effort to please and get approval instead of for myself and my own ambition like I should have. Making an adult's approval your compass is the road to feeling betrayed and let down by a system you trusted in.
>>
>>220407371
Yeah.
That is also one of the bigger illegal issues.
Like I said above its why seeding is the bigger issue and why they would go after hosts or large seeders rather than individual users.

Really though you could use the internet and try find the few people who ever get fucked for copywrite piracy etc and find its very few people and only the big names.
Napster, pirate bay, limewire...
They know they cant control it and are fighting a loosing battle.
They constantly send DMCAs to site and get ISPs to block sites (in my country at least) but like whack a mole they block one site and 5 more pop up.
Shit they been trying to block TPB for over 20 years now, its still alive.
>>

having religious framing around death must be comforting, I was raised hardcore catholic but dropped that when I moved in with my aunt and she started telling me about how the Church was in the 60s and 70s around where we lived. >>
>>220407462
I know God and ghosts exist I've seen and heard paranormal stuff.
these experiences have been shared by other people and pets.

it's like you are praying for something and it happens. or you get a sudden feeling to go visit Grandma and she fell over and she was praying for you to visit.
seeing shadow people at home and see the dogs bark at it. hearing your name when your wife was trying to call you but your phone was in silent.
smelling the cologne your dead grandpa used,
having the same dream about your dead grandpa with your sister. being "visited" by him.
there's hundreds of examples. souls are real
skeptics will laugh and deny it
but if you had a paranormal experience you know it's real
>>
>>220407493
nothing on Pluto is paid.
on demand means you pick the movie. it's not streaming but you choose it.
it's just the regular movie and show library. is free

everything is always free
>>
>>220407517
>but isn't one of the founders still in jail?
No but they have tried to fuck them all for years for other things, you can brief look at their wiki pages. They are political activists, at least 1 or 2 of them still are.
>TPB still being a thing is crazy
TPB is more of a political statement. It runs like it used to, hosting torrents but is uncentralized and doesn't have the soul it used to have. The thing about it is the pirate party which is a worldwide political organization/ideology based around freedom of internet and speech, which started around the pirate bay, people host the site data and they use TPB as the forefront of the ideology/political statement.
TPB is the foundation of modern internet piracy anyway.
Its like if TPB is up, you know we are all good.
They can take a random site down and its no buggy but its when they destroy TPB that is when we would need to worry.

only thing close to this I've had is the haunting of one of my parents' bedrooms in their house (never seen it myself but multiple generations of inhabitants have and more importantly complete strangers who had never heard of the hauntings) and smelling my granma in the house she died in 20 years ago (but I chalked that up to the natural association between smell and memory).
I'm no sceptic but have not have the pleasure of first-hand experience, my mom was raised by very spiritual parents so she claims to have them all the time, but my dad is hardcore sceptic and yet he has experienced multiple weird happenings he can't explain and gets angry about if brought up. So I know something is up even if I haven't seen it.

My dad works for a contractor company that does maintenance for the water utility company and they sometimes send people out to remote pumping stations and water treatment plants.
He had to spend a few days there alone at an old cabin the utility company personnel used to live at, place was already plagued by tarantulas and fucking snakes cause the forest is basically next door. One night he was sleeping and he heard some guy whispering at him and laughing, he got really spooked and he's not that easy to scare.
Afterwards talking with some guys from the rest of his regular crew who used to stay at the cabin as well they told him the plant's security guard had killed himself there decades ago, they had heard the story from the utility company's personnel. Turned out some other people had been spooked as well and no one wanted to stay in the cabin anymore.

ofc:
For context, the house my parents live in was built sometime before the French Revolution (1789) so it is quite old, this doesn't really matter but it gives you an idea of what kind of place it is. Hard stone ground floor with wooden upper storey and attic added on later, as well as the big dining room, library and solar. It was built in a time where people were shorter so all the rooms on the ground floor have doorframes that you have to duck under if you're over 6ft1.
Anyways so the second storey has two bedrooms, the one on the west side of the house is the haunted one. According to the old witch (technically not a witch, more like a folk healer) that was still alive when they bought the house in the 90s its always had some weird energy. Right when we moved in my brother and I finally had our own rooms, our first night there he picked the haunted room but in the middle of the night came to sleep with me because he had felt a hand on his face and something whispering words he couldn't make out right into his ear. He refused to sleep there again and slept in the shitty guest room from then on whenever he couldn't have my room (I was half living at my aunts already so not there most of the time).
Anyways so he brings this up to my parents ad they scoff at it. A few months later he brings it up at a village feast (yes we used to have those after a good hunting season) and the old witch lady tells us that house has always been fucked up, tells a story of a woman that was beaten and starved by her husband in the 30s in the haunted room who ended up hanging herself from the ceiling crossbeam. So next my mom spends a night there, also feels unsafe and just weirded out. Being the spiritual person she is, she contacts her supernatural contact in the Asian country she grew up in, she sends a photo of the house and dude scans it(I dunno how it works lol) and says without prompting or (cont)
>>
>>220408100
I had that experience.
I was staying at the old house my grandma had. it was just my grandma. my aunt and me.
middle of the night at 3 am. a male voice saying something that sounded like "Chevrolet" yes the type of car. I was fully awake from it.
I don't know why the voice said that.
>>
>>220408152
>>220408152
my grandma had a soft small hand grab her hand when she was asleep. whispering something too. these stories are so close. sounds so similar.
>>
>>220408152
further information that the room on the right in the photo has a lingering presence and advises her to make contact with whatever it is, tell it that we are moving in and it has to make peace with our being there somehow but that she respects its presence and will respect it. She spends another night there and spends a few minutes talking by herself, all seems well. From then on we have no incidents, my mom makes a small offering stand for the spirit in a corner of the room and talks to it whenever she cleans up in there. But about one out of four guests that stay there get freaked out, hear whispers or footsteps, stuff goes missing etc But for us its fine, its the room I sleep in with the family cat whenver I stay over and I never saw or heard anything (I also give it some conversation and greet it when I come home to be safe, though I only half believe anything is happening).
Anyways that would be it and I wouldn't bring it up outside of when I'm asked, but there is one more thing. When my parents first bought the house it had been vacant for a few years so they photographed parts of it and the outside of each side as reference since we lived on another continent back then. Around 2013 when I was in college I was digging around the house for my HS maths notes and found boxes of old photos I was enjoying for nostalgia. In those were those photos, it was funny looking at how much my parents had improved on what was there in every aspect. But when I looked at the photo showing the room windows I noticed something disturbing, there was a silhouette of a person outlined behind the thin white curtains that were up at the time, in the fucking haunted room (still have chills even thinking of that moment). I immediately showed my mom, she freaked out saying only her and dad had been there that day for sure, called her spirit person and was told to make a ritual burning of the photo. I regret not having that photo since its a huge prop piece of the story
>>
>>220408301
but in the end I trust my mom knows better than me on these matters. Since then, no hauntings at all since my parents are older and have fewer guests. I still sleep there everytime I come over, mainly because their cat has made it his afternoon nap room ever since he was a kitten and I like sleeping with him snuggled up next to my feet. I've never seen a thing ever all these years so I guess the ghost made has made its peace with our family. It's a story I like telling people whenever we go camping or night hiking, every single time I wish I had that fucking photo as a a finisher. I've told the story before on /x/ since it's the only paranormal adjacent story I personally know about. My parents have better stories they've personally experienced but I can never remember how they go since they're based on Indonesian folklore ghosts and ghouls.
>>220408287

I was like 13 and around a bunch of college kids that paid me no attention so I felt like I was a fuckin adult. Each pod had a section of switches where you could either enable or mute the other pods since everything was numbered. Once the employees knew me theyd give me Bawls for free which was crazy because it was about $3 a bottle back then which was a shit load for pop

yeah it was like that for me too, from 13 to 16yo we'd go to cybercafes every Saturday and most of our class would be there too, jocks, nerds, goths whatever it was the start of videogames being a more popular and accepted hobby so we were all there. We'd usually start with some light CS and BF and then move on either to w3 custom games or something longer like an RTS or Diablo campaigns. Once WoW came out most people were on that but we didn't have access to a credit card so we just watched it from afar occasionally.
>>220409169
yeah being around what seemed like completely grown up adults at the time and playing with them sometimes was great as well, one time I absolutely dominated a game as Sand King on DotA and this one guy with a huge beard on my team came up to me and clapped me on the back before buying me my next drink. The next weekend he was there again and gave our group our first sips of beer, cool guy.

I wish I'd taken a photo of my favourite one, it was called Game Empire and was absolutely huge, maybe 200 or so PCs on two floors, just teens yelling every slur imaginable at each other and laughing all day on a soda high. I never thought cafes would die out so fast, I heard they still have them in parts of Asia though, the only one left near me is a printing shop that also has PCs but no games.
