It doesn't commit to anything very well except the aesthetic of Gotham being a decaying/corrupt city. The detective story is lame and predictable. Not everything has to be an epic plot twist but by the halfway point all but the dumbest in the audience have figured it out and are just waiting for the pieces to fall into place.Ditto to the fight scenes. They try to sell Batman as being an above-average fighter but ultimately just a man with high-tech gear then invalidate that by showing him wading through bullets for the next guy to hit.Catwoman and the romance was studio-mandated "make sure the girlfriends dont get bored" so I didn't care. The social commentary was whatever, I noticed they steered clear of the whole "the people batman beats up are the REAL victims" narrative people like to bring up because it would probably make comic book nerds too mad.I'll give it that it wasn't poorly paced, it just had a dumb story
