This movie has way too much non stop talking.The quiet scenes with the ship falling, the alien in Shaws stomach, david roaming around the ship, etc are the kino parts of the film.None of the yapping from the geologist, mrs vickers, the copilots, isris elba or shaws boyfriend made the movie any better.

It would've made for a far better scene for the third act. The events of the movie leading up to David's genocide of this population of subpar-Engineers, that he and Shaw have been living with for a period of time. That was in fact one of the original ideas for the sequel, the two of them interacting with that society. I wouldn't be surprised if the genocide attack was part of the third act originally. It makes so much more sense. Then we'd have also seen the fallout of the friendship between Shaw and David. Perhaps, in part, leading to the genocide.

I can't believe how much they butchered the original script. They took out everything to "make it more mysterious". It feels like it it's one of those situations where the creators are too close to the work and can't see how it's perceived by their audience.
