I’ve watched Fraiser like a dozen times but never watched any of him on Cheers. Should I for the backstory or will it just make me frustrated?
>>
>>220420256
He's barely in it

You should watch Cheers because it's one of the great television shows.

The episode of frasier where diane shows up makes it a lot better. I would just watch cheers because it's good. Not because you need a backstory.

Frasier isn't the same character in Cheers anyway
>>
>>220421527
I know what you mean
>>
One time I got really bored and wrote this fanfic where Frasier somehow stumbled into the barn from Charlotte's Web and met Charlotte. Frasier could understand her and he got really horny, so he picked her up and forcibly masturbated himself with her. I need to see if I still have it.
>>
>>220420256
if you liked Frasier then Cheers may be a little too much for you, it actually has laughs not just "occasional sensible chuckles" so maybe just watch a couple of episodes and make sure it's not too funny for you
>>
>>220423168
Frasier from Frasier wouldn't do that but Frasier from Cheers might.
>>
>>220423168
Based, please post it.
>>
>>220420256
It will actually make you cry as Fraiser and Lilith were a God Tier super couple that got done super fucking dirty with how they were broken up in Cheers and how every Lilith appearance in Fraiser basically was the Fraiser writers squirming over how fans kept holding out hope they'd get back together
>>
>>220421880
I want to go back.

Was she a ballerina at some point?
>>
>>220420256
Someone a couple of years back made a three hour YT video pretty much breaking down pretty much everything you needed to know about Fraiser on Cheers, recapping pretty much every Fraiser centric episode and key moment, plus all of the behind the scenes lore and gossip like the original plan to have him knock Diane up to perma block Sam and Diane from ever getting together and offering the non "Shelly Long is the devil" angle that taints most Cheers retrospect pieces
>>
>>220424759
I never really watched Fraiser, but did watch Cheers. Do you really need to be familiar with him on Cheers though? I thought it was the same character while also mostly disregarding his character on Cheers
>>
>>220424759
Instead of that bullshit they should’ve just done a supercut of Fraiser’s screentime, but I suppose you can’t monetize that

This.
Frasier's backstory in Cheers just doesn't line up with his backstory in Frasier despite the latter show's attempts to patch over the inconsistencies. the only way it could work is if Frasier was a pathological liar. I decided they are parallel universes.

Frasier acts different in Cheers because Niles isn’t there to bring out his most toxic traits.
>>
>>220426628
This. He also changes whenever characters from Cheers are in Frasier. It's not exactly a weird thing either, I have a friend that is a complete piece of shit but is still a good time to hang out with, and I would end up being similar when we'd hangout for long enough.
>>
>>220425615
Would get double teamed by Bebe and Vicky even if it meant also getting double teamed by Dick and Rogan
>>
>>220420256
I watched Frasier for the first time a couple years ago and loved it. I tried watching Cheers and couldn't stand it. Your mileage may very, but they are very different shows. If you're that obsessed, then go for it.

>>
>>220426724
Cheers never clicked with me either. I just like the “vibes” of Frasier better. It’s extremely comfy.
>>
>>220426826
Probably because it's just not that relatable compared to Frasier and the majority takes places in a bar rather than a home.
>>
>>220426794
>commie
>loving a show about elitism and the high life while hating a show about the working class
>>
>>220426928
exactly. Commies are elites that suck the life out of the working people. How do you know know this.

I think Cheers' problem is that there's way too many characters. It's hard to get invested in them.

Also the look, Cheers started in that early part of the 80s that was just run off from the 70s so everything looks brown and lit with a heat lamp.
>>
>>220420436
The episode where Lilith comes back is my favorite next to the one with the model and her daughter
>>
>>220428877
how invested do you need to be? It's just supposed to be something to make you laugh.
>>
>>220420436
Ooh, a good ol' "hiding their naked body with the back of a chair" pose. Nice.

Oh. She's just wearing a dress and sitting weirdly. Lame.

He doesn't join until S3, and even then, character-wise he's closer to how Niles is in Frasier. That said, Cheers is absolute kino, especially if you treat it as a period piece. I highly recommend Cheers.
>>
>>220426724
The first two seasons of Cheers are a huge slog to get through. It's one of those things where it's easier and preferred to just skip to the start of season three, which is where Fraiser debuts, if you are a Fraiser fan.
