Let’s start from the beginning:

-The core main characters are TALKING TO ONE ANOTHER. Right from the ending of last episode to the beginning, the most important group we follow are now aware of someone dangerous who used to wear a yellow coat. My first sentence is most important cause it was probably the #1 complaint the show would receive. The writers have heard it, and even though I don’t think we’re gonna have every character be open (why should they?) it tells me at least this is something they’re purposely gonna get better at.

- The MIY is confirmed to be the one speaks to Sarah. Yes this was easily theorized but we didn’t have to wait all season to find out. We don’t know if he’s responsible to speaking to the others that hear voices but chances are yes (Abby?)

- With Tabitha helping Ethan out, we’re stepping away more from the whole “oh no, that can’t be real cause it doesn’t sound real”

- Julie discovers the method to bookmark while story walking. The importance is unclear but I think it’s a way to piece together certain mysterious from wildly different time periods.

- At this point any drawing or vision is of importance. Victor continues to stay important.

- The concepts of fairytales and folklore is emphasized again, this time hard with the introduction of the golem. This is no longer a “they are all in a simulation or vr” story.

- and my favorite part of the episode personally, is that we finally have a field trip where multiple people are actually doing stuff. Yes this isn’t something so “revealing” per se but it’s better than having character going out on their own (and maybe joined by one other person) trying to figure shit out.

I thought the idea was that you write a bookmark, leave it at some point in the timeline and then, when you want to go back to that bookmark you storywalk, while writing the bookmark on a piece of paper you are holding. To kinda have a channeling talisman you can hold to really focus on where you want to go.

But apparently that was a completely wrong interpretation.

What are the odds that the MIY was originally just a good normal dude and then the shapeshifter appeared, killed him, and stole his identity? I can think of no other explanation why Miranda wouldn't have instantly knew something was wrong when he appeared unless he genuinely seemed like a good dude.
