Currently 20 mins into this, what did you think about it? I'm liking the femcel character, I could save her if you know what I mean.
>>
Pretty sad when Sam Raimi can't even get an actor to star in his movies.
>>
>>220425026
It was fine but also a plothole in that the same chunk of rock breaks off twice
>>
I saw a standup whatever for it and was immediately disinterested
>>
Alright, the boar scene was spectacular violence. I'm loving this film so far.
>>
Imagine the bush on her when she finally got away from the island. Or do you think she shaved in the guy's house?
>>
>>220425498
nah she was fully immersed in the wild life
>>
>>220425436
It was too cgi and fake looking
>>
>>220425240
Not a plothole, pinhead.
>>
It was funny I liked it

Damn, Rachel McAdams had all of that underneath those frumpy office clothes?
>>
How groided up is this?
>>
>>220425579
Depends on if you consider the Irish to be white.
>>
>>220425635
It can go either way
>>
>>220425026
Dylan O'Brien's character had the chance to spend the rest of his life on a tropical island with Mommy Rachel Mcadams and blew it. Dumbest character in movie history.
>>
>>220425026
Way too white. I hope the writers get fined.

what channel is this on?

His bro did just die. He wasn't in the right mind
>>
>>220425240
Worse than that is how the fiancee shows up at all, accompanied by just one other person. And then how she's buried with the hand and ring sticking up
I hoped all of that would turn out to be a dream or hallucination or whatever, but no, it happens for real and it's dumb
>>
>>220425026
Rachel McAdams did a great job playing a femcel, but the plot wasn't particularly interesting imo. Seemed like 1/2 an idea.
>>
Alright just finished the movie. It was a very solid watch. Would I ever rewatch it? Maybe if I had a gf and she wanted to watch it. So probably never. But I would definitely recommend it to any anons looking for a fun time!
>>
I'm a total racist should I watch this movie?
>>
>>220426830
The leads are white. There are a couple of non-white characters who are more like plot devices and you don't spend much time with them
>>
One of the best Raimi movies. Really loved it. Great to watch in a theatre with a crowd reacting.
>>
>>220426830
>>220426881
Every non white character in this movie suffers gruesome death except for the All State guy
>>

>>

It was terrible. Radical feminist slop.

Cringe take from a beta male
>>
>>220428108
If it was feminist it wouldn't have gone out of its way to show how she is mentally ill.

>ending explicitly shows her giving an evil look at the camera with a musical sting before driving away
>chuds still see this as a girlboss
>feminists still think this is an empowering movie

>>
I was just bored.
The plane crash survivor shit was dull and made no sense.
The main protagonist went from frumpy, to Jane of the Jungle to bad-ass action woman.
No interesting twists, no sensible characters, no realism of consequence (the wife showing up with no crew despite looking for a big CEO, the cliff falling in the exact same place, the wife being half-burried, the guy finding her with her ring-hand sticking up, the entite mansion scene).

Just a long slog of half-coherent nonsense.
>>
>>220428837
It kinda makes sense on paper but I still got this weird implausible vibe from it.
>not explained how this boat found them when the earlier larger search efforts failed
>boat rounds the corner and heads straight toward Linda as if it had already seen her, before it could have
>fiancee seems perfectly dressed and clean and shows no signs of the search having taken a toll on her
>everything happens so fast, the boat plows into the beach and the two people instantly hop off of it, without seeming to do anything to secure it or anchor it
>they are charging off into the forest 30 seconds later without any preparation for what could be a long hike, not knowing how far away Bradley is, and not even asking if they should instead take the boat around to him
>>
>>220425026
I saw this in the movie theater but I legitimately don’t remember like the entire second half of it, me and my buddy snuck in like a dozen beers and got tanked. I remember having a good time at least so there’s that.
>>
>>220429425
It's better in the first half, when it appears to be a more straightforward survival story, before all the big twists happen, and when it still seems possible to root for either of them
>>
>>220425026
Why would she need help? She seems to be doing all right by herself. She even figure out how to fire up a torch.
>>
>>220425026
It was retarded. The cock torture scene should have been real, I feel like it was censored. The best parts were the plane crash and the people falling off the cliff but otherwise it was just a woman powertrip movie
>>
>>220429389
>not explained how this boat found them when the earlier larger search efforts failed
NTA, but if I was using private money to fund a search effort, I wouldn't direct my efforts to the area SAR covered extensively. I'd use my money to investigate fringe areas. Obviously the sea is different than land, but in cases of missing people on land, we often vastly underestimate just how far someone can wander off which excludes their location from search grids
>>
>movie makes her out to be a girlboss hero getting revenge on her shitty boss
>is actually a psycho

gross
>>
>>220425026
I watched this after rewatching Evil Dead 1, 2, and Crimewave. Sam Raimi has made the same movie for over 40 years and I love him for it. Although I'm torn about how I feel about Raimi shots appearing in other movies, especially horror. It's a cool nod and great, kinetic shots but it is literally derivative.
>>
>>220433757
I am happy the movie was everyone was their own kind of evil, even if I'm convinced they stole the "desperate woman keeps her crush hostage by lying about not knowing a way off of the island" from Steven Universe. Also, they keep dropping little hints that they two were fucking (like the handprints in the sand near her head when she wakes up) so there's another level about her psycho attachment and his desire to get away.
>>
She's so fucking hot

the moral of the story is its OK for women to act crazy and kill innocent people to get what they want.

if the roles were reversed twitter would be having a meltdown calling it toxic masculinity

It's such a horrible poster that I almost didn't want to watch it. Raimi has only made 2 bad movies in his life(evil dead 3, oz prequel) so I'll watch it but...whomstever decided THIS was the poster needs to lose their voting rights, lol.
>>
>>220425026
I thought it was alright. Put me off a little bit that the guy is portrayed as wholly evil no matter what happens. It's a very feminist dyke fantasy horror movie.
>>
>>220426830
It's probably the whitest movie of the year.

>>
>>220436057
They're both terrible. I saw it more about how dumb and futile the whole Battle of the Sexes has always been. That said, anytime a girl wins a 1v1 physical fight with a man, that pretty much disqualifies a film in my eyes. A better film would have made use of more environmental factors and unfair advantages to make the fight believable.
>>
Horrible cgi that ruined the island design and with it a good part of the movie. Boar scene was clear example of pajeet ruination of cinema.

The guy getting sucked out the plane screaming "GIVE ME YOUR SEAT!" at her is the hardest I've laughed at a movie in a long time.
>>
amazing kino, but utterly depressing when I look at the reception on this board
I know people here were dumb but not this dumb
>>
It was good, I liked it alot. It's very much like "Drag me to Hell".

She's femcel-adjacent.
It's not woke.
It's not girlboss.
She's doesn't even have the moral high ground.

It was funny too. 8/10.

>>220437688
agree completely. it’s underrated.

She was too beautiful to be cast in this movie to make it even remotely believable
> Beautiful woman tends to my wounds , builds a shelter for me , feeds me , tries everything to make me feel comfortable
NGL, I would've been mating press her all over that beach.
Between sex sessions I would've start developing anti-aircraft systems and coastal artillery to keep the would be rescuers at bay.
>>
>>220433880
>desperate woman keeps her crush hostage by lying about not knowing a way off of the island
i don't remember any examples but I feel like I've seen this plot many times already in the past, both with men and women
>>
>>220437688
>It's not woke.
yes it is
>It's not girlboss.
yes it is
>She's doesn't even have the moral high ground.
You're right about this tho
>>
>>220437688
>movie ends with her murdering 2 innocent people then killing her boss and then she escapes and becomes rich and famous and faces no consequences for killing 3 people
it’s a feminist power fantasy

Me, an intellectual, will simply jack off to the webms.
