It's dumb to be overly critical on someone's early work when there are plenty of comedians who have not so great comedy specials at first. Nobody thinks Chris Rock's first special was good but look at what he ended up doing. Joe Derosa much like Tony put out a mediocre special and yet the newest special he put out like a year ago is the best comedy special of that entire year. Ari Shaffir put out multiple mediocre specials early on in his career and his 2022 special "Jew" is arguably the best comedy special of the decade, or at least top 3. Even his recent Netflix Special was great. I'm telling you as someone with objectively good taste that Tony crushes it. It's not just the roasts and the quick witted jokes he does on Kill Tony, his actual stand-up is excellent and you will understand this if you see him live or at least wait until his Netflix special comes out.

It was filmed literally two weeks after the event which means it's not fleshed out material that would be used for a legitimate comedy special.
