Its genuinely some pretty bonkers stuff. Just go find the time-lapse footage of them building the main underwater set (in a giant tank that they flood). One of my favorite stories is that james cameron would go nuts from boredom while he was doing his 3 hour long decompression, so he eventually just had waterproof monitors brought down so he could watch the dailies while he waited.
