The relationship scenes are what give this movie it's life blood

this

did ashley judd really have that great of an ass???
>>
>>220444071
Mediocre movie.
>>
>>220444071
I skipp all of the women parts :)
>>
>>220444071
The action is the juice
>>
>>220444242
this, a total waste of a Pacino/DeNiro pairing
>>
I wonder if anybody created a Womanless Cut
>>
>>220444270
This guy knows what he's talking about.

To be fair, men don't know how to write women, but it's pretty gay watching Al be a literal cuck and autistic DeNiro falling for some random chick he meets at a diner. Oh and Val Kilmer being a cuck was the worst.
>>
>>220444270
This, Waingro should've been the MC too
>>
You watch 3 hour long crime thrillers for the romance scenes?
>>
>>220444270
Might as well skip the entire film, it's fucking terrible
>>
Great film
>>
>>220444071

They are all fully formed men. They have houses, careers, and women. Part of makes Waingro so much lower than everyone else is that the best that he can do is to statutorily rape a black child prostitute. But even he is managing to have sex.

It is significant that the film names each woman, even if only once. I forget the name of Hanna's (third) wife, but she crops up often enough that I'm sure she's named. Neil, Eady, mentioned several times. Chris can't live without Charlene. Bonnie (Mike) and Ana (Trejo) are bit parts, but each is named and described in a loving way. "You have T-bills, real estate, Bonnie takes good care of you..." "My Ana's gone... I can't feel nothing... Don't leave me like this, Homes." Too bad that Donald had such an ugmo, but he also had a woman who loved him and who was supporting him (was she named, now that I think about it?)

>>220444071
Are they really gonna make a second one? Wasn't almost everyone killed?
>>
>>220445198
I think it's supposed to be a prequel
>>
>>220444071
>One Scene: The movie
>>
This thread has shown me that contrarianism for the sake of contrarianism is so cringe. Make up your own mind instead of letting others opinions define your tastes
>>
>>220445198
Why make a fucking prequel? That's retard. Are they gonna get new actors? Man, these people come up with the worse ideas for movie.
>>
disagree
pacino's wife and her daughter and the hick are lame
ashley judd is fine, her character represents why you'd have to be a fucking retard to have an actual relationship while being professional bank robber
>>
>>220445225
>>220445602
Oh I see. Why not the same actors de niro and kilmer look as young as ever
>>
>>220445602
Yeah, new actors. Don't know if it's going to get made but Leo, Bale, Bradley Cooper, Adam Driver, and Austin Butler are attached.
>>
>>220444367
we can only dream. slightly related, i calculated that if you cut out all the irrelevant woman talking scenes from the sopranos (almost all of them) you end up trimming out 100 minutes of watch time and improving the overall experience.

>character limit cucked
Definitions:
>Woman: Any woman who is not married to or dating a mob member or affiliate
>Wife: Any woman who is married to or dating a mob member or affiliate
Rules:
>Skip any scene that contains a woman unless it also contains a man who has a speaking line
>Skip any scene that contains a wife unless it also contains her husband or a mob affiliate
>Adriana is exempt from these rules (I could have saved her) ensure you watch all of her scenes
>Artie and Anthony Jr. are mob affiliates
>Meadow is to be treated as a special case, all her scenes are to be skipped unless a mob member or affiliate is present but boyfriend scenes are to be skipped
>Skip every scene that Livia appears in. Exceptions to be made for the flashback/funeral/etc. group scenes that are critical to the story
Congratulations, you have now cut out all of the worst scenes in the show and most of the filler in general. As an example of how much content can be cut from this show, applying these rules will skip around 100 minutes from season 1 alone.

Note for future: Melfi should be treated as a mob wife and all her scenes should be skipped unless a mob member or affiliate is on screen with her. She has some scenes that I believe should be cut from future viewings as I found scenes with her family to be completely unnecessary, I suspect removing them would improve the viewing experience.

Time savings
S1E01: 10:59 (Livia x3, Carm and the finook priest, Carm and Meadow)
S1E02: 14:15 (Livia x6)
S1E03: 5:46 (Meadow and Hunter x2, Carm and Charmaine x3, Livia)
S1E04: 2:19 (Livia)
S1E05: 19:55 (Carm and the finook priest x10)
S1E06: 5:12 (Livia x3)
S1E07: 6:47 (Livia x3)
S1E08: 4:52 (Livia x3)
S1E09: 4:04 (Livia x2, Meadow's soccer team)
S1E10: 1:42 (Carm and wives, Carm and Meadow)
S1E11+12: 10:42 (Livia x6)
S1E13: 14:20 (Livia x4, Carm and Rosalie eating lunch with the finook priest x2, Carm and finook priest)
S1 Total: 100:53

I rewatched it just he other day and the thing I realized was that often the good guys were responsible for unnecessary death happening.
Straight from the first gig where the security dude tries to make a move and it causes all three of them to get killed.
And then the good guys delaying the capture of the bad guys cos they gotta catch them in the act.
The movie kinda depicts the gray area and hypocricy of the american justice system.

this is true for all of mann's movies, except collateral but that's because niggers can't act. the other part of his methodology is the showcase of technology, because all of his movies are highly procedural.

shame that he did not have the courage to make another movie in the vein of manhunter, but regressed with heat which is just an inferior retelling of thief, albeit with a highly entertaining villain.

>>220446856
it's not so much that as the fact that mann directs his action scenes nonsensically, because he often does not pay attention where his characters stand, they behave erratically and whatnot. look at the ending scene in manhunter which works because it's so wacky, like a pastiche of peckinpah. or the shootouts in heat which look fantastic but make zero sense positionally or balistically.
>>
>>220444071
Reminder to everyone here that Point Break is a more realistic movie than Heat.
>>
>>220447735
>make zero sense positionally
How did Wes Studi get in position to shoot Kilmer? Who knows and who cares.
>>
>>220446856
he had to get it on
>>
i dunno who started the waingro stuff here but it's made this movie funner on a second viewing
>>
>>220448063
genious on bigelow's part to make keanu infiltrate a surfer gang so people forget that's how he actually acts
