I mean that there is so much amazing stuff in these movies that anytime I think of them they seem so cool and interesting. I think about them more than the OT. All the ideas and worldbuildingbare so great, the lightsaber battles, Palpatine's scheming, Anakin's downfall, it's amazing stuff. But then when I actually watch these movies I get confronted with so much dogshit. A lot of incredible stuff too, but my god the shit really sours the experience and I really feel like I am watching a straight up bad movie. And then the next day I'm taking a shower, and I'm thinking back on the movie I saw yesterday, and I think hell yeah.Anyone else get what I'm saying?

The problem is just that we end up with a good little mini-adventure that is followed by a mostly unrelated and undercooked plot. It's the third movie we've had with these characters too and they haven't changed drastically from the last movie at all, save for Luke, so we don't need this long introduction. It's just bad scriptwriting, they should have done a couple rewrites to make it all a bit more cohesive. The prequels don't even make this mistake.

The prequels have a lot of actually decent moments, but their execution is poor because nobody was around to tell Lucas which of his ideas were good and which weren't.They become far more watchable when you go with a fan edit like l8wrtr's to cut out all the fat and juvenile slop.
