This must be the worst musical I have ever seen.

Saw the broadway adaptation a few years ago after seeing this clip from it and thinking it looked cool. Imagine watching this in a doctor's office or something when it aired on tv at 6AM. This may just be the lewdest thing that ever aired on early morning television.

Unfortunately though the stage musical was very disappointing as well. They did put in more recent music which was cool, the singing and dancing were great of course since it's brodway, and the sets and costumes were amazing. But they did not fix the story and characters at all. They were still completely one dimensional and uninteresting like in the movie.

Definitely a good date night show though, since it's very sexy, and I guess women actually like the story for some reason.

Mom rented it when it came out and dad and I were actually about to watch it with her. Dad and I each tapped out in under fifteen minutes. We physically couldn't take it and had to leave the room. Afterwards, mom reported that she'd enjoyed it.

God-awful screeching.

zoomercore take desu

yeah it’s loud and edited like someone discovered cocaine for the first time but that’s the whole point. it’s supposed to feel like being trapped inside a glitter bomb having a panic attack in 1899.

is it corny? absolutely.
is it subtle? not even remotely.
but at least it swings for the fences instead of being another gray, joyless “grounded” musical where everyone whispers their trauma.

also the elephant love medley clears 90% of modern jukebox slop. you’re just spiritually allergic to sincerity.
