Remember when Doctor Who would sometimes make the best sci-fi TV ever for a brief time?

Yup. Then it went woke.

Tenant/Smith era Dr.Who was unironic kino.

Ecclestein's wasn't very consistent, but it had the benefit of giving the Doctor some legitimate character growth which you rarely get elsewhere.
Plus at least it's got Dalek and an Empty Child. Even Father's Day was okay -- maybe not as an interesting story, but from an emotional standpoint.

Don't Blink greater than both.

What is considered the best point to stop watching Nu-Who? I stopped after they introduced Bill and Nardole (and after I saw the famous "history's a whitewash" line posted somewhere).
I never had any desire to watch any after Capaldi left, so I guess I'm ultimately just asking if the one season with Bill and Nardole is still worth watching.

Which was the ep. where those evil statues that only move when you close your eyes?
>>
>>220463453
Yes, the finale of that season is kino. Shut it off just before he regenerates and pretend they ended the show then and there

Blink. Episode 10, Season 3. Great apisode, though that's the original, there are others.

Doctor Who needs to be studied for how quickly it incenerated all its goodwill. The show went from being this little British show with a massive online following to absolute irrelevance in about five years. Even Star Wars took seven years to become a non-brand.

Star Wars
Star Trek
Game of Thrones (though I hear the newer shows are clawing their way back to quality)
Terminator
Marvel
Lord of the Rings (referring to Rings of Power, but it could also be said to apply to The Hobbit trilogy)
The Matrix, first with the rest of the trilogy, then with the newest abortion
Joker (despite there are only 2 movies)
Jurassic Park
AND Jurassic World (I thought it sucked but it had loads of fans who dwindled with each new one)
I'd bet James Bond is on the chopping block

Unironically, someone could make a really interesting book about these cases and when and how they fell apart and lost everyone's respect and I'd read it.
Fuck it, I might go make a thread about this, seems interesting to discuss.

Self proclaimed sacrosanct British institution forced up it's own arse by out of touch clique.

but today, EVERYBODY LIVES.
I knew nothing of doctor who, but after that I was hooked.

Fuckno.
Blink: best horror
Library : best suspense
Midnight: masterclass making the viewer uncomfortable
>>
Yeah the last great stuff came out in 1989
>>
>>220465661
This is where I have to come out as a pleb, because I watched barely any classic who (Pertwee's last story and Baker's first season) and it was just too dry, despite Baker being great).
People say that about Star Trek, but I love Trek, but those Who episodes (besides Genesis of the Daleks) are extremely dry and drawn out imo.

Yeah, I remember 1977.

The novelizations are better.
