Really? I felt it was a really slow starting series... it peaked somewhere between 5 and 6

The last season was... just like the rest of the series. Tragically wasted potential, just because Weiner didn't want to be formulaic. They set it up perfectly... the corporate rulers want to replace Don with a computer. And where the hell did it go?

The way this show pretended like they were all big brain geniuses for coming up with basic marketing concepts that had already existed since the dawn of time was funny

Anon I...
>>
Do you think any of these characters were reading the works of William S Burroughs? Did Sal find his way to Fiji and get fucked by Allen Ginsberg? Did they meet The Sailor on 103rd and Broadway? Did Don ever see a deeply alcoholic aging Jack Kerouac go off about the Jews on stage?

Binged watch all of this recently and I haven't been motivated to watch a show or even do anything for a long time. I loved every season and thought the show was incredibly consistent. The aesthetics of the show are really beautiful, the recreation of the 60s as well as camerawork and the subtleties of the lighting are really really sweet.

I guess if you come into it with the expectation of high stakes it can be disappointing. The show is essentially a soap and very character driven. But for me this is one of the best shows ever created.

>>220474924
Understand its a loosely humorous show about Ad Men and how they bullshit through life because they are living Ads. ‘Ad Men’ that’s not a job title, that’s a person who is half-Ad and half-man. The Advertisement nature seeps into Don’s character and has him lying to his wife. In fact he got his job at Ad Inc when he proved he was an Ad-Man by lying to his boss the master Ad-Man. So yes everything they do is an Ad and therefore horseshit. Are we really buying this presentation? He fucking know he just made it up because he’s getting divorced this week for cheating on is fucking wife!
>>
>>220472280
Season 3 was the writers high on their own farts. Conrad just wanted Don to blow him like everyone else.
>>

No, it isn't, nobody has ever said anything positive about this garbage. it is perfectly correctly rated as SHIT
>>220472340

>>
Conrad is fucking right though like what is this fucking metaphor shit, Hilton on Moon on page. Fucking great idea for an ad. We don't have to actually do it but that's the type of space-age thinking we're up to right now in this changing world and the public should be excited about whatever new ergonomic toilet design or liquid nitrogen desert they'll be seeing in the next few years, Sure a Hilton on the moon why not? We're using photomontage to astrally project dreams onto the public you fucking rube!!!! Don't you turn country just because you think I'm your dad!
>>
Superimpose Hilton over Bright Blue Image of Space-Age Moon, induces public association Hilton-SpaceAge-Moon. Look at moon even, think Hilton. Capture mental real estate 'rent free', paint it Moon-Hilton

Mad Men is literally one of the best written shows I've ever watched. I dont know there is a single bad episode. And even the only meh episodes are S1 finale and S2 opener.

I remember this distinctly because both eps were back to back and I was worried the show was falling off.

Anyway every character gets a proper send off, they are written off with dignity and the show checks in on everyone even people you long forgot.

Tho for some reason the show runner gods really decide to fuck Birdie for some reason. Not sure why they punished her so. And the finale is one of the best finale of any show ever.
>>
>>220476178
It is just an advertisement, there's nothing "well written" about it.
Kill yourself Jew
>>
It's a good show and one of the few that explores appearences, beauty, superficiality.

It does insist on itself and it's at its worse when it tries to be 'funny', especially when compared to Sopranos brilliant dark humour.
>>
Zoomzooms can't process life in such a based society. Sad! Many such filtrations.
>>
Most TV-shows never touch on the fact that their main characters are beautiful/ruggedly handsome. Mad Men actually asks the question: what happens if you are really good looking?

Paradoxically, it offers a profound exploration of superficiality.
>>
How many years has the Mad Men schizo been at this? What a disgusting existence.

Breakthrough - Opportunity to fully cognitive consent. In fact they may pay us for their own mental real estate knowingly and willingly. Same image Hilton on moon, on moon real estate, sticking out. Hilton-Moon image in closeup head of bald man, raised eyebrow, smirking. Tagline - ‘Exploration on your mind?’ Hilton
>>
>>220477776
Hilton-Moon real estate looking like a spot, Hilton holds a spot on the moon, Hilton-Moon holds a spot in your mind. Go there now. In your head. We have built it for you. Moon scary no oxygen and cold but Hilton like home, warm and nice air. Space food probably nice. Recalculating
Ad 2 - Space Hilton. Cold moon surface out window, warm yellow heat inside. happy family pipe newspaper wife in tasteful bikini (speculated anti-gravity swimming pool in shot?), boy girl running playing comfortable, dad not bothered. Being served speculative luxury space food, the waitress is the one wearing the sexy silver space outfit, maybe she’s an alien i mean she lives here haha :).
Tagline - quote from father to wife, ‘I’m glad we waited for the Hilton’
I would have gotten the job

Does it matter who says it when it's the same force saying it no matter what way it says it through? In an anonymous world, faceless nameless, is it a mistake that we identify people by sharing the same idea, or is it a conceptual move provided by our unauthorized action? Go beyond space and time and face and name, throw away all that, suddenly the same faces appear and appear. What's up with that? Anyone have any ideas?

Agreed. Duck should have been the main character
>>
>>220479014
>character throws a family golden retriever out into the streets
It was a set up. I can already imagine the writers coming back from the future of Duck's story thread saying 'the audience might not see this guy is stitched up as jerk! What do we do about this 'character'? Go back in time, they say, he's only up for a draft. An absolute plot. Hitting he and us with a stray, stitched up like we both strayed the dog. Stray bullet right? Hey buddy, DUCK!!!!
>>
which is to say about Duck, the writers shot him with a stray. Get it? He ducked out

No she McMotherfucking wasn't. She fucking cared and that's what Don needed and fully wanted as was leaking through every thread of his sick body. Come the fuck on. I'm just glad this largely nameless honest dame escaped publicity by properly noticing the wall she had been slammed against seeking any sense of real romance out of a stitched-up ad men. Get it?

>>
Can we all agree that the worst character was Pryce's wife? She spent all the money meant for taxes on a fucking Jaguar lmao
>>
>>220480223
She didn’t know how broke they were. Lane’s pride was his downfall. Same reason why he didn’t ask Don for a loan even after witnessing him pay like 20k for Pete’s cut
>>
>>220480223
She was squirreling away a little at a time so he probably would’ve still had the same problem. The irony of that scene was that if she had given him the gift a few days earlier he could’ve just returned it and not forged the check
