McCarthy probably didn't want to repeat her charater from Bridesmaids, that's this over the top badass confident fat woman. Which she was great at. Wiig, had no clue what to be. It's the directors fault for not giving them something to "act". Complaining about soup isn't much motivation. All kinds of things could have made Wiig an actual character. Make her afraid of ghosts, or frustrated with herself for not being able to prove it, or thinking this ghost busting isn't studying and the wrong move. Anything to add conflict and provide different emotions. The movie doesn't challenge it's actors at all, and the thus the audience is bored too.

The opening setup with the haunted house takes fucking forever and every joke attempt falls flat, then it's just a bunch of awkward spinsters talking about their queefs and chinese food for what seems like forever.I gave up and ended up watching The Predator, which is only marginally better
