We just pretended to be friends, and I’d spend time with my daughter by pretending I needed tutoring. My wife, then 23 would come over with our kid and I’d spend time with them while we “studied.” During the summer I’d pretend I was babysitting her kid while she worked…my parents just thought I was a really nice boy. On my 18th birthday I told them. My mom claimed she always knew…I doubt it. They didn’t talk for 6 years until we had our son, but by then I was 24 and she was 30, and it didn’t seem so bad. Now I’m 41 and she’s 49 and no one even questions it until they do the math when we say how long we’ve been together. Our daughter graduates law school in a few days lol. Funny thing is I look older than my wife. I look like I’m 55 and she looks 30. I’ve been in construction my whole life though. Thank you for reading my blog. It’s all true though.

My point is that at no point did I ever feel I was being taken advantage of. If anything, it was the other way around when I saw how her parents treated her like she was a whore and would refer to my kid in FRONT OF ME as “the bastard” and would tell me never to get with a girl like their daughter…fuck it felt good to tell her dad it was me all along. Actually, he STILL doesn’t talk to me. He’s dying of cancer too so we kinda have a “look at me Hector” type situation going right now.
