Finally got around to watching pic related. Felt like I was watching an epic like Lord of the Rings but for a comic book. Why did everyone hate this? Arguably better than TDK and even Spiderman 2

Having Superman kill in his first movie, and the Martha scene in BvS in particular really damaged his credibility with the comic fans. Also some of the castings were really bad (Wonder Woman, Lex, Flash). The fact that people associate his fanbase with easy-to-please spectacle-over-substance jeets also doesn't help.

Snyder really had no luck. First the plot got cut out of BvS and went to theaters as an incomprehensible mess, and then Justice league was Marvelfied. It did enormous damage to his reputation world-wide. Good thing he got to release his vision in the end, but the shitty CGI really hurts the experience
