I want to start watching his movies but first I need to know if his movies make sense. I don't want to finnish movies with a lot of unanswered questions in my head. After Last Year at Marienbad I'm trying to stay away of such movies. People love to elevate shit they don't understand.

His movies and tv show are the definition of "dude just focus on the viiibes and the a e s t h e t i c s instead of the plot". Not necessarily a bad thing but he's overrated as fuck.

People usually hate what they don't understand. Just watch the simpler ones to begin like straight story or blue velvet

Really? I have the impression "movie experts" love nonsensical movies.

vertigo is praised as one of the best movies of all time specifically because no one understands the ending.

and no one understands the ending because jimmy stewart refused to do the original ending and demanded it be changed to utter nonsense.

the straight story
the elephant man
blue velvet

three great films that make sense

Because they get it and you don't.

He's an utter failure on every technical aspect of filmmaking but pseuds enjoy his stories because dude dreams lmao

He’s someone that if you watched his movie at 21, then at 31, then at 41, you would probably have different interpretations and maybe deeper understandings with each one, to me that makes it art and it means he had a complex inner working in his head that he translated to cinema take it or leave it
Plus eraserhead is cool

Nah he was a genius and an artist
You either get it or you don’t
Most people live their lives doing absolutely nothing of any difference
This guy really put his mind to work and created things that were powerful and interesting
I’m a fan and he’s someone that I’ve only liked more as time has gone on

I think he had a really cool way of making films and was a cool funky dude, he was actually one of the good ones he wasn’t doing anything creepy in his real life just in his art, you don’t gotta like it but others do
