Just finished S1. I like how the final episode brushes over Caesar’s assassination. The ending, where Brutus’s mom has a girlboss moment after being the one to instigate the assassination floored me. The cucked OC embracing the corpse of his indian wife as he stares tearfully at his wife’s son made me emotional. And the other OC walking into the sunset with the slave he loves, whose boyfriend he brutally murdered right in front of her! It was definitely the right decision to focus on random soap opera subplots they made up and OCs over actual historical events and people. I clapped and cheered. I especially liked Augustus’s sister having a lesbian relationship with Brutus’s mom, and Augustus and his sister engaging in incest.
