Are they trying to push IMAX again or something? the faggot from myth busters is doing an IMAX series on his youtube channel. IMAX is fucking huge by the way. I have a cheap 645 pentax and the negatives/slides on those are huge. to put it in perspective, if you look at 35mm stills film 645 is like 3 times as big as 35mm stills film (35mm stills film is bigger than 35mm movie film because 35mm movie film goes through the camera vertically instead of sideways and some of the film is used for the sound channel). full 70mm 15 perf IMAX is 1/3rd bigger than 645 stills film. it's fucking massive. Lawrence of Arabia is on 70mm 5 perf and they were able to 8k scan it and it sounds like 8k is just 2x 4k, but 8k is 4 times as much resolution as 4k and 16 times as much resolution as 1080p and imax is even fucking bigger than that
