the thing is it's more rewarding to see a bridge or edifice and think about how you had a role in building it than just hearing about how your company is now worth more money but you're not getting anything extra

LMAO there is something fucking weird about repressed "straight" boomers like this, I've seen so much shit like this. 2 of our bosses are unmarried single guys, so a lot of the boomer workers joke they must be gay. Recently my one boomer coworker was going off about it and was like "HAHA COULD YOU IMAGINE THOSE QUEERS TOGETHER IN THE OFFICE WHEN WE'RE NOT AROUND?? THEY'RE PROBABLY LIKE *GLUK* *GLUK* *GLUK* *GACK* *GACK* *GACK" and he starts miming the most graphic blowjob with sound effects and the fucking double twist hands motion for WAY too long while the other boomers are all laughing their asses off and I'm just like "heh... good one" and he keeps fucking going

It is truly insane. I work in retail which is about as low as it gets, we don't even have the rare person who stops and appreciates our skills as tradies do.
>yesterday I'm in and out of the office while my store manager is on a "retail ops town hall" Teams meeting
>overhear the HR people talking up some of our coming "tech advancements" including more convenient systems to punch in and out
>"We're trialing this app that would allow store teams to clock in and out remotely, this is going to reduce payroll and time spent reconciling timecards by making it easier to punch in on time... It's basically proximity sensor on their device that won't allow them to just randomly clock in unless they're physically in the building"
>immediately the "field" """leaders"""" on the call (DMs etc) start kvetching about how easy that's gonna make time theft
>Various people talk through scenarios they just made up that involve not trusting their employees to clock in and out properly and fearing that the company will lose lots of money for "lazy people"
>complaints that hourly slaves need to have more accountability and not less
>HR guy finally interjects that it's only a trial and "anyway, the kind of employee that wants to steal time maliciously, they're gonna do that regardless... The teams you have in place should be people you don't assume will do so."
I left the room chuckling, like holy fuck they really do think the proles are all a bunch of savage animals trying to wrong them, huh?
>>
>>220504939

Yeah no shit, but some people are just meant to be the slave class I suppose. Nothing, literally nothing, can change that now. I'm tens of thousands in debt just from trying to make ends meet, I make $21 an hour full-time and that still isn't enough due to kikeflation, I'm living paycheck to paycheck. I don't have the money to go back and get a degree and I never will. Even if I did, I wouldn't have the time or energy to do it. I don't have the credit to take on more debt, and because I'm a free thinker and not cocksucker, I can't move up the ladder any more anyway (not that they take store employees and ever give them meaningful roles in the home office or field, they claim our best "path" is becoming a contact center associate if we don't want to waste decades for the "privilege" of being a store manager). Even if the job market were good, nobody will hire me. Indeed is a humiliation ritual, it "matches my skills" and shows me only fast food, warehouse and retail work, occasionally sales or call center. Generally searching yields nothing as EVERY "REAL" JOB requires a degree even if they don't give a fuck about the field, or years of experience, or both, and I can't afford to take a pay cut either.
I am a victim of the system, society made me this way, and I'm stuck under the cogs of that infernal machine.

Company I work at, or rather a subsidiary of it, doesn't have HR at all. They just pay another company for bookkeeping, salaries and so on. Any conflicts are resolved at managerial level, but they happen so rarely I can't even think of an example. There's "site management" which is mostly women but they just organize events like Christmas and take care of the office as a space, no actual power over "normal" employees.

My parents are basically poor themselves, they would take me in but they live in a rental condominium themselves, they haven't got the space. And besides, rent is not my biggest expense per month, it's my credit card bills that total almost $1200 because of how high interest rates are, and the cards are basically maxed out to the point that I pay the minimum, and by the time the statement posts, the interest has wiped out any cleared room on it.

I have a CDL though I havent used it in a few years, I just keep it current. First thing, do you smoke weed? If so just move on, Im not against it personally, but you can be stone cold sober not smoked for 2 weeks and if someone hits YOU and dies you will have to take a piss test and if you piss hot you can be tried for manslaughter. Now beyond that if you're doing OTR you will hardly be home, you are at the mercy of dispatch, at the mercy of the places you drop and pick up from, everyone will hate you, the people on the road will hate you. Regional gets you home a little more often, usually weekends, but generally get home late Friday, and if you sleep in Saturday there goes your weekend because you could be disptached out at 430 monday so Sunday will be stupid short, basically just given your 34 reset. Local? Home every night, but depending on the place you will work 70 hour weeks, so you will just have time to eat, shit, show and sleep. There are a shit ton of restrictions and other things DOT cops whole job is to fuck you over, everything is always your fault, a no fault accident? That will still follow you. Personally I wish I didnt ever get my CDL, as its more of a life style than a traditional job. Just my 2 cents, but hey, it only takes like 6 weeks to get it if you go to a school, DO NOT DO IT THROUGH A CARRIER do it through a school.
>>
>>220505819
I'm not insisting, I'm fully admitting trannies will never be real women and it's a man sucking my dick. I'm just saying "on paper" and real life are very different feelings. Closeted religious boomers and drughead Xlennials are hilarious. The former like to rant about temptation and homosexual flaunting. Dude: if you're straight, no amount of bussy being paraded around in front of you will "lead you astray to sin". Likewise: no amount of cocaine or adderall is going to make sucking dick seem like a swell idea. It's like they're genuinely baffled and unaware of the concept of bisexuality.

I'm very honest with myself over it all, else I would just go deluded woke and say trannies are real women and therefore it's 100% straight and it would all be wrapped up tidy. I can admit it's a man blowing. I'm just saying it does not feel accurate to describe it so simply as gay or bi. I've had sex with 99% women and like 2 trannies that both passed. I'm not attracted to men at all. I'm dominant and verbally abusive in bed and I just learned trannies are a good match for that because it makes them feel like women to be called a whore and shit so they're extra submissive. I'll accept the title of bi it just doesn't feel like the most accurate term when I'm not into men at all, just the occasional male that's submissive and girly enough that they outdo real girls in a sub context. I guess I'm just a hyper degenerate that turned bi

All those jeets seen in accidents are doing OTR, based on the fact they have sleeper cabs. Isreal is legitimately paying for jeets to get their CDL. If you want to get a CDL, go through a school, do not go through a carrier as they will lock you down with them for a year or two. It cost me $5k back in 2014, so I do t know how much it is now, but it gives you the freedom to leave jobs if you dont like them, as job hoping in a driving career is kinda the norm.

Carriers give you job as soon as you pass, as you drive for them, then you ride with a trainer for a little bit then you're on your own. Even if you go through a school some companies will make you ride with a trainer when they hire you on, which isnt bad, gets you used to shit. When I was taking classes they had a good handful of places that came in and actively recruited you, so I promise you will get a job rather quick when you're done with school, especially if you got OTR. You just need to remember its a lifestyle more than a job, if you have a close friend, girlfriend, wife, boyfriend... See if they will get their CDL with you, and then yall can team drive, which basically means the truck is always running, once one drives hours are up, the other driver takes over. IF YOU HAVE KIDS DO NOT DO OTR unless you're separated and hardly see them or something anyway, OTR you will be lucky if you're home 3 days a month. Also many OTR have pet programs and passengers programs so say you had a wife, but she didnt want to drive, she can at least chill with you on the road with you, hell she can man the phones and deal with all that shit so all you had to do is focus on driving. Tip, FUCKING PLAN OUT YOUR TRIP, GOOGLE EARTH YOUR LOCATION SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING YOUR TRUCK INTO, EXPECT DELAYS!!! Get a good Trucker GPS as they avoid low bridges and shit, also dont eat slop everyday ad many truckers go from ok weight to balloons in 3 years. Also if you decide to stop driving, id recommend to just keep your CDL current as you never know if what you take on next lasts and they will always need drivers. Sorry for the book.

I'm single and pretty much have no life outside my current job. Been like that for most of my adult life but yeah I think I'd rather do local.

>They are thinking its something like being a park ranger and you get to see beautiful views and shit

I get paid ~$180k a year to drive around the woods in a fully loaded company truck (CarPlay, Starlink, the cop car laptop holder thing, a bunch of outlets to plug in my coffee maker and instapot, the works). All I do is check in on contractors, take pictures, send a few emails, and look at drawings. I have almost zero paper deliverables outside my two page daily report. All my peers did the same thing I did which was brutalize ourselves by doing blue collar work and going to college at the same time so they could turn white collar. There’s no soft handed dorks doing my job because there exists a certain niche where you need blue collar common sense and white collar technical training.

Yeah I'm pretty much hitting rust status, I just want a stable well paying job so I can finally buy some real estate and fuck off to the middle of nowhere.

Local has its pros and cons, and yes, you can find local gigs that will take on nee drivers, they exist, but could be hard. I did pepsi, the trucks where the side bay doors slide up... Jesus fuck that was the hardest job I have ever done, first day I clocked in at 5 am clocked out at 11pm. Honestly if I didn't have to actually stock the sodas the job would have been fine, I would have rather had more stops in a day, then have to stock. Look into Amazon, I saw a video of some chick who drives for them and she apparently only works 3 days a week, dispo to dispo, and you will get really good at backing up, tip for that, grab the BOTTOM of the steering wheel, not the top when you back up. If you move your hand to the left, the trailer will go left, you move it right the trailer will swing right. Honestly backing up is the hardest part, so once you get that down, job is rather easy, outside of dealing with people.

I work as a field engineer for a utility company. None of the dorks in the main office want to get up at 0500 to drive 2 hours on 6’ wide muddy logging roads, stand around in the cold/heat, deal with a bunch of surly linemen, and then knock off at 1800. I outlined the benefits but none of you would handle the downsides consistently if you spent most of your career riding a desk at bankers hours.

I think those are called feeder drivers, UPS has them too but I think they work the typical 9-5 because the hubs are a lot closer together since there's so many of them.

yeah and wages have only been stagnant for the better part of 60 years

When I saw that video I thought about applying and I might as I had a job once that only worked me 3 days a week and those 4 days off was bliss!

I'll see what comes my way if I can manage to pass. If I can't stand working for whatever company I get first then I'll try amazon.
